Job summary

Peoplefy in Pune is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE team. You will help ensure the reliability and performance of our digital services, building scalable monitoring and observability across cloud and container ecosystems.

You will work with engineering and product teams to deliver features reliably into production, create dashboards/KPIs, and automate toil with Python or Shell. AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and JVM tuning are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; 3–4 years of relevant SRE experience.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Dynatrace, New Relic, Grafana, Splunk/ELK) and building monitoring solutions.
• Strong understanding of HA, scalability, observability, IaC, CI/CD pipelines and KPIs (SLIs/SLOs/SLAs).
• Scripting with Python, Shell, or JSON to automate toil.
• Experience with Unix/Linux and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Experience with containerized technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with web/app servers and JVM tuning.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Site Reliability Engineer will be an integral member of the SRE team, working to ensure the reliability and performance of our services. This role requires a strong technical foundation in software engineering, systems engineering, a deep understanding of SRE principles and deep knowledge of instrumentation tools.

SRE team is responsible for building and implementing scalable solutions with SRE standards and practices to support our rapidly growing Digital applications and capabilities. Also responsible for building instrumentation function to enable Engineering organization with right dashboards and reports to effectively capture their KPIs. Primary goal of keeping the digital experience reliable and help engineering and product teams to deliver features seamlessly into production.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. Additional equivalent work experience of three (4)years may be substituted for degree requirement, and minimum 3 years of experience in implementing SRE functions, or a related field.

Experience with any 3 of the 5 following instrumentation tools such as Dynatrace/NewRelic/Grafana, Splunk/ELK, Blue Triangle, Quantum Metrics and Adobe Analytics and creating monitoring solutions. Also, additional similar tools to Blue triangle/Quantum Metrics will be considered.

Well versed with Systems Design Understanding (HA, Scalability, Observability, IaC, CI/CD pipelines)and Operational KPIs for SREs(SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs, Error Rate, Latency, Availability/Uptime, Incident Metrics, Change Failure Rate, Capacity & Resource Utilization)

Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Shell or JSON to reduce manual efforts and automate toil using mentioned languages.

Experience with Unix/Linux system understanding. Identify and troubleshoot system performance issues.

Well versed with cloud environment AWS/Azure(Azure storage, Azure Native services, Event Hub, Caching, postgres/cosmos DB, Azure monitor, etc).

Experience in containerized technologies & applications (Fundamentals and advance Docker/Kubernetes/AKS/KEDA)

Well versed with IBM WebSphere, Apache tomcat, Node JS, ActiveMQ/IBM MQ. Troubleshooting of application and JVM config tuning for better performance and services stabilization.

Knowledge on JIRA, Confluence/WIKI, Service Now.

Excellent communication skills. Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues at scale.

Must have skills:

• SRE From Engineering perspective
• Observability – Monitoring tools-APM Tools- Dynatrace/Appy dynamics/New Relic or similar
• Cloud-any- Azure is preferred
• Hands on coding/scripting-Python(Prefered),Shell
