Job summary

NIQ is seeking a Senior DevOps / Data Engineer in Chennai, India, to design and manage AKS environments, build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, and manage Azure IaaS/PaaS infrastructure. You will develop data pipelines with Apache Airflow and Azure Databricks, and create Power BI dashboards for reporting.

The role emphasizes production support, incident management, and collaboration across teams to ensure reliability and performance in multi-application environments.

• Strong expertise in production support, monitoring, and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments for scalable applications
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including developing workflows from scratch
• Work extensively with Azure Cloud (IaaS & PaaS) to provision, configure, and manage infrastructure
• Set up and maintain lower environments (Dev/Test) and contribute to production environment deployments
• Design, develop, and maintain data engineering pipelines using: Apache Airflow; Azure Databricks

• Perform daily troubleshooting, log analysis, and root cause analysis across applications and infrastructure

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior DevOps / Data Engineer with strong expertise in Azure cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, and modern data engineering tools. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in designing, building, and managing cloud infrastructure, developing GitHub Actions pipelines from scratch, and supporting production environments with a focus on troubleshooting, performance optimization, and incident resolution.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Data Engineering roles
• Proven experience building and managing end-to-end cloud and CI/CD solutions
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting
• Ability to work in high-pressure production environments
• Excellent communication skills and experience handling user queries and stakeholder interactions
• Self-driven with ownership mindset and continuous learning attitude
• Experience in monitoring tools (Kube Prometheus Stack, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, etc.)
• Familiarity with security best practices and tools such as, cycode, codeQL, wiz.
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates)
