Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a seasoned manufacturing leader to oversee two specialty chemical manufacturing facilities in India. Reporting to the COO, you will drive end-to-end plant operations, aiming for safety, quality, productivity, and cost targets while leading a high-performing team across sites.

You will champion process safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives to advance operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 20+ years of manufacturing leadership in specialty/process chemicals.
• Experience managing multi-plant chemical manufacturing operations.
• Strong knowledge of process safety and environmental compliance.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and process control.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations across two chemical facilities.
• Drive production performance while meeting quality, productivity, and cost targets.
• Champion process safety and statutory compliance across operations.
• Monitor plant KPIs such as yields, energy use, and efficiency.
• Ensure SOPs, ISO standards and regulatory requirements are followed.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering and Supply Chain for on-time deliveries.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost plant performance.
• Oversee reporting, performance reviews, and improvement roadmaps.
• Build, mentor and develop high-performing manufacturing teams.
• Liaise with regulators to ensure environmental compliance.

Job Description

Reporting to the COO, you will:

• Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations across two chemical manufacturing facilities.
• Drive production performance while ensuring quality, productivity, and cost targets are achieved.
• Champion process safety, EHS, and statutory compliance across all operations.
• Monitor plant performance through KPIs including yields, power consumption, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure on-time customer deliveries.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and operational excellence.
• Oversee plant reporting, performance reviews, and improvement roadmaps.
• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing manufacturing teams.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure seamless compliance with legal and environmental requirements.

The Successful Applicant

• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Brings 20+ years of manufacturing leadership experience within specialty or process chemical industries.
• Proven experience managing multi-plant chemical manufacturing operations.
• Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, process safety, and environmental compliance.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, process control, and operational performance management.
• Demonstrates strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven ability to drive productivity, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
