Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Hyderabad is seeking a Site Engineer - External Civil to plan, supervise, and execute external civil and infrastructure works in line with drawings and project specs.

You will coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, survey teams and utility agencies to ensure timely execution, maintain quality and safety, and prepare progress reports and as-built documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in external infrastructure and civil construction works.

Site Engineer - External Civil

The Site Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing all external civil and infrastructure works in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules. The role involves managing construction activities related to site grading, earthworks, roads, pavements, kerbs, drainage systems, stormwater networks, underground utilities, culverts, retaining structures, hard landscaping, fencing, utility corridors, and external infrastructure associated with the project. The engineer shall review construction drawings, method statements, technical specifications, and survey data to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards. Key responsibilities include coordinating with consultants, clients, subcontractors, survey teams, and utility agencies to ensure smooth execution of external works and timely completion of project milestones. The engineer shall monitor site activities, manage manpower, equipment, and materials, conduct inspections, verify line, level, and alignment, and resolve technical issues affecting project progress. Additional duties include supervising excavation, backfilling, compaction, road construction, drainage installation, utility crossings, and site development works while ensuring adherence to approved methodologies and specifications. The Site Engineer shall prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, monitor quantities and productivity, maintain site records, coordinate quality inspections, and ensure compliance with project quality plans and HSE requirements. The role also includes supporting testing activities such as field density tests, concrete testing, drainage testing, and utility inspections, as well as assisting in project handover and preparation of as-built documentation. Experience in Data Centre, Industrial, Infrastructure, Commercial Building, Township Development, or Large-Scale Construction Projects is preferred. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of earthworks, roadworks, drainage systems, underground utilities, surveying principles, construction sequencing, and relevant IS, ASTM, BS, and local authority standards. A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience in external infrastructure and civil construction works is required. Strong technical, planning, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for ensuring safe, high-quality, and timely delivery of external civil infrastructure works.
