Job summary

Solidus Techno Power is seeking a Site Engineer – Rooftop Solar to lead on-site execution, installation and commissioning of rooftop solar projects for residential, commercial and industrial setups. You will supervise mounting structures, wiring, earthing and safety, ensuring quality and timely delivery on-site.

The role requires 2–4 years of rooftop solar installation experience, diploma/engineering in Electrical or Mechanical, and willingness to travel to sites in Punjab/UP/Karnataka.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–4 years' experience in rooftop solar installation and commissioning.
• Freshers may apply for junior roles.

Responsibilities

• Execute rooftop solar projects per drawings and BOQ.
• Supervise mounting structures and electrical wiring.
• Ensure tilt, alignment and safety of modules.
• Perform pre-commissioning checks and assist commissioning.
• Coordinate with DISCOM for net-metering/approvals.
• Maintain site safety compliance and quality checks.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and internal teams.
• Track material inventory and on-site manpower.
• Prepare progress reports and project documentation.
• Assist troubleshooting during warranty/OM.

Position: Site Engineer Rooftop Solar

Department: Projects / Operations

Reporting To: Project Manager / Project Head

Location: Karnataka / Noida, UP / Patiala, Punjab

1. Role Purpose

The Site Engineer – Rooftop Solar will be responsible for on-site execution, supervision, installation, and commissioning of rooftop solar projects (Residential, Commercial & Industrial), ensuring quality, safety compliance, and timely delivery.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Execute rooftop solar projects as per approved drawings and BOQ.
• Supervise installation of mounting structures, solar panels, inverters, AC/DC wiring, earthing, and lightning arrestor systems.
• Ensure proper alignment, tilt angle, and structural safety of solar modules.
• Carry out pre-commissioning checks (IR, earthing resistance, polarity, string voltage/current) and support plant commissioning.
• Coordinate with DISCOM for net-metering/inspection approvals, where applicable.
• Ensure site safety compliance (PPE, working-at-height, electrical safety) and quality checks.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams for smooth execution.
• Track material inventory and manage on-site labour/contractor manpower.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and maintain project documentation (as-built drawings, test reports).
• Support troubleshooting during warranty/O&M period.

3. Key Skills

• Knowledge of rooftop solar PV systems, AC/DC electrical systems, earthing & net-metering.
• Familiarity with mounting structures and roof types.
• MS Office/MS Project; AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong site supervision and coordination skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively.

4. Qualifications

• Diploma/B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–4 years' experience in rooftop solar installation & commissioning (freshers considered for junior roles).
