Hitachi Energy in Chennai invites a Technical Marketing Engineer for Mission Critical telecom solutions. You will empower global Pre-Sales and Sales teams with technical market insights and align with product strategy.

The role focuses on HVDC Base Control & Protection software, control function development, and protection studies using EMT tools, collaborating across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics with 5–8 years in Control and Protection systems.
• Knowledge of PSCAD, MATLAB or similar simulation software; basic IEEE/IEC standards knowledge.
• MS Office: Word, Excel.
• HVDC system experience preferred; digital/analog circuit experience preferred.
• Experience in technical tender support or bidding; protection application in substation environment preferred.
• Self-starter who can own tasks to completion.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Global Projects by adapting HVDC Base Control & Protection Software (MACH).
• Develop Control and Protection Functions / Solutions for future HVDC technologies.
• Perform Power system protection / control studies using EMT tool based on project requirements to optimise fault detection algorithms and setting philosophies.
• Support projects in resolving the issues related to Control and Protection Functions.
• Coordinate with different stakeholders across the business units to get inputs to optimise the HVDC solutions.
• You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

The Opportunity

The technical marketing engineer for Mission Critical telecommunication Solutions (MCS) has the global responsibility to enable the Pre-Sales & Sales community of the different regional HUBs to understand technical market requirements for wired telecommunication networks and ensure customer interaction in line with global solution/product strategy. Support sales organizations in driving sales by your technical expertise. Provide relevant customer & market inputs to product management and R&D activities, ensuring market alignment and relevance.

Your Background

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics with a minimum work experience of 5 TO 8 years in Control and Protection system.
• You must have Knowledge & Skills in PSCAD, MATLAB, or any other Simulation Software, basic knowledge on IEEE / IEC standards.
• Knowledge & Experience MS Office: Word, Excel.
• Preferred experience from HVDC System. Digital signal processing, Analog circuits and digital circuits experience is preferred.
• Experience in technical tender support or bidding, experience in substation environment and protection application are preferred.
• Self-starter caliber who could own tasks through to completion.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
