Job Function/Title

Simulation and Digitalization Engineer

Locations

Pune, Chennai, Bangalore

Value Chain Simulation is part of Global Offshore and is responsible for verifying and validating the design, planning and execution of WTGs end‑to‑end value chain that starts with Design, Procurement, manufacturing, transport, pre‑assembly, construction and service operations. To ensure the highest confidence in the various execution projects, you will participate in early design, modelling and simulation of unique and complex operations. You will be reporting to your Lead in Value Chain Simulation and work closely and agile way with colleagues in supply chain, manufacturing, transport, construction, logistics, quality, sales, service, etc., in order to establish best decision when moving from plans to reality. Therefore, you will have a unique opportunity to support the operational excellence of Digitalization journey as well as professional and personal development opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • You will capture the technical requirements of simulation development projects/deliveries based on business and stakeholders needs.
  • You will plan and execute the design and development of Discrete Event Simulation (DES) models.
  • You will support the verification and validation of various logistics, assembly/pre‑assembly, and installation operations of WTGs using various tools.
  • You will contribute to the growth and development of the modelling and simulation team by excelling in teamwork capabilities.
  • You will contribute to the development of tools to automate work processes and analyze/visualize simulation and modelling output.
  • You will proactively engage stakeholder networks for effective cooperation in meeting business and stakeholder outcomes.
Qualifications
  • B.E / B.Tech or higher in an Engineering discipline from a reputed university (Industrial Eng./ Mechanical Eng. Computer Science / Information Technology / Or similar)
  • Track record of (min 3+ years) professional experience in industrial experience at OEM or similar.
  • Experienced with DES Simulation and/or other Industry 4.0 projects/process for 2 years.
  • Demonstrated experience with one of the following: FlexSim, Anylogic, Simio, PlantSim, or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of one or more following programming languages: C/C++, Pyhton, C#, VBA
  • Basic knowledge of SQL.
  • Working knowledge of Mathematical programming and Optimization.
  • Good written and clear oral communication skills in English.
Good to have skills
  • Experience in developing models to simulate and analyze special/complex WHAT-IF scenarios, including failure modes, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of implementing data analytics in manufacturing/assembly/logistics or similar operations.
  • Prior knowledge/experience in Manufacturing and OEM assembly operations /Industrial Eng./Material Planning & Logistics would be an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge/experience with CAD tools like Creo, Catia, and Sketchup would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methods and tools (e.g. DevOps).
  • Knowledge or desire for working with large and diverse data sets and database technologies.
Competency
  • Knowledge and expertise in modelling and simulation methods and theory (e.g. Discrete event/continuous simulation or agent-based simulation).
  • Willing to learn new technologies/tools and implement them in the day‑to‑day activities.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively and successfully in a collaborative, customer oriented environment.
  • Take the initiative to identify, work on problems proactively and lead by example.
  • Creativity, self-confidence, and flexibility.
