Responsibilities

• Perform Siebel installation and configuration of components for IP17+ versions.
• Manage Siebel server components including user creation, capacity planning, optimization and monitoring.
• Oversee code, repository and non-repository migrations across environments.
• Tune server performance and handle critical server situations to maintain stability.
• Provide day-to-day administration for Siebel components, ensuring secure, efficient operations.
• Maintain Siebel servers across environments with patching, vulnerability management and resource monitoring.
• Analyze logs to resolve crashes, workspace issues and system problems.
• Automate tasks using Unix/Shell scripting and basic UNIX commands.

We are looking for an experienced Siebel Administrator to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Siebel installation, configuration, and server management, particularly with Siebel versions IP17 and above (preferably IP20.6). You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management, performance, and stability of Siebel systems and will work closely with development teams to support the deployment of Siebel applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Siebel Installation & Configuration: Perform installation and configuration of Siebel components, particularly with the latest Siebel versions (IP17 and above).
• Siebel Server Management: Manage Siebel server components, including user creation, capacity planning, optimization, and monitoring.
• Code & Repository Migration: Oversee code migration, repository migration, and non-repository migration across various environments.
• Performance Tuning: Handle server performance tuning and manage critical server situations to ensure system stability.
• System Administration: Provide day-to-day administration for Siebel components, ensuring all systems run efficiently and securely.
• Server Maintenance: Maintain Siebel servers for all environments, perform regular patching activities, handle vulnerability defects, and monitor server resources (CPU, Memory, Disk space).
• Log Analysis & Issue Resolution: Analyze logs for component crashes, resolve workspace issues, and identify problems to maintain system integrity.
• Scripting & Automation: Automate tasks using Unix/Shell scripting, and utilize basic UNIX commands to work in a Linux OS environment.
• Environment Management: Responsible for server resource monitoring, job scheduling (JOBs/RCRs/Tasks), and ensuring seamless deployment for production and lower environments.
• SSL & Security Management: Apply SSL certificates and manage user accounts to maintain system security.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with business teams and developers to ensure Siebel systems run optimally and efficiently.

Primary Skills

• Extensive experience with Siebel Installation and configuration for versions IP17 and above (preferably IP20.6).
• Strong knowledge in Siebel Server Management, user creation, capacity planning, and optimization.
• Deep understanding of Siebel Architecture and Siebel Data Model for IP17+ versions.
• Experience in Code Migration, Repository Migration, and Non-Repository Migration.
• Familiarity with Linux commands, Unix Shell Scripting, and PLSQL.
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning, server monitoring, and troubleshooting critical server issues.
• Strong knowledge of FTP, EMS system, and applying SSL certificates.
• Siebel System Maintenance for all environments (including regular patching, vulnerability management, and resource monitoring).
• Log Analysis and experience in handling component crashes.
• Unix/Shell Scripting for task automation and management.

Required Qualifications & Experience
