Job summary

SkillYT is seeking a technically strong Shopify Developer & Website Manager to own Shopify development, performance, and ongoing optimization. You will work hands-on with Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify APIs, while coordinating with Growth, Brand, and Performance Marketing teams.

You will optimize product discovery, checkout journeys, and site speed, build custom pages, and ensure mobile-first, responsive design.

About The Role

We are looking for a technically strong and commercially minded Shopify Developer & Website Manager to take ownership of Shopify website development, functionality, performance, and ongoing optimization. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Shopify developer with strong expertise in Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Shopify APIs, and third-party integrations, along with an understanding of D2C e-commerce and website analytics. This role will work closely with Growth, Brand, and Performance Marketing teams to build website features, execute campaigns, improve conversion rates, and use data to enhance website performance and customer experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesShopify Development & Technical Ownership

• Own end-to-end Shopify website development, maintenance, and technical improvements.
• Develop and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Build custom landing pages, product pages, collection pages, and promotional pages.
• Develop reusable website components to reduce dependency on external development agencies.
• Implement custom features to improve the overall shopping experience.
• Ensure mobile-first design, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.

Conversion Rate Optimization & User Experience

• Work with the Growth team to implement website CRO initiatives.
• Optimize product discovery, add-to-cart, and checkout journeys.
• Build and implement cart upsells, product bundles, progress bars, promotional widgets, and personalized recommendations.
• Execute A/B testing initiatives and implement winning variations.
• Improve website speed, Core Web Vitals, and overall technical performance.

Third-Party Integrations & Technical Management

• Manage Shopify app integrations, payment gateways, shipping solutions, and marketing technology tools.
• Integrate and maintain platforms such as GA4, Google Tag Manager, MoEngage, and other relevant tools.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, integration failures, and website bugs.
• Maintain website security, stability, and technical hygiene.
• Evaluate existing Shopify apps and identify opportunities for custom development.

Campaign & Launch Execution

• Develop and deploy campaign-specific landing pages for sales campaigns and product launches.
• Implement promotional pricing, offer mechanics, website banners, and merchandising components.
• Ensure smooth technical execution during high-traffic sale periods.
• Coordinate with Brand and Growth teams to deliver projects within campaign timelines.

Website Management & Data Analytics

• Manage website hygiene, product catalogue updates, collection merchandising, and navigation improvements.
• Ensure product availability, pricing, discounts, and promotional offers are accurately reflected on the website.
• Conduct regular website audits to identify broken links, technical issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Monitor website performance using Shopify Analytics, GA4, and other analytics tools.
• Track key metrics including sessions, conversion rate, add-to-cart rate, checkout conversion, AOV, and revenue.
• Maintain accurate website event tracking and troubleshoot data discrepancies.
• Build basic dashboards and automated reports to monitor website performance.
• Analyze customer journeys and identify conversion drop-offs.
• Translate website data into actionable technical improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4–6 years of relevant experience with substantial hands-on Shopify development experience.
• Strong proficiency in:
  • Shopify Liquid
  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • JavaScript
• Experience with Shopify APIs, custom theme development, and third-party integrations.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, mobile optimization, and website performance.
• Familiarity with GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Shopify Analytics.
• Experience working with D2C or e-commerce brands.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple development projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with Shopify Functions, Metafields, and Metaobjects.
• Familiarity with SQL and Looker Studio or other data visualization tools.
• Experience with CRO tools, A/B testing, and customer behaviour analytics.
• Knowledge of technical SEO.
• Experience with CRM integrations and marketing automation platforms.
