Job summary

Photon in Bengaluru, India seeks a senior Solution Architect to own end-to-end architecture for headless Shopify B2B commerce. You will shape technical design with React/Next.js, and drive enterprise integration patterns across SAP and related systems.

You will define governance, non-functional requirements, and observability practices while mentoring teams. This role emphasizes security, performance, and scalable commerce solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as Solution Architect or Technical Lead in digital commerce or enterprise transformation.
• Strong experience with Shopify Plus / Shopify B2B implementations is preferred.
• Experience integrating Shopify with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC is an advantage.
• Ability to define non-functional requirements (NFRs) and establish architecture governance.

Job description

• Own the end-to-end solution architecture and technical design for headless Shopify B2B commerce solutions.
• Define scalable and maintainable architecture using Shopify, React, Next.js, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Design and implement integrations between Shopify, SAP, and other enterprise applications.
• Define appropriate integration patterns using REST, GraphQL, middleware, and iPaaS platforms.
• Design solutions leveraging Shopify Storefront API and Admin API capabilities.
• Provide technical guidance for Shopify B2B features, including Companies and Company Locations.
• Define architecture principles, technical standards, design patterns, and development guidelines.
• Establish and enforce technical governance across application and integration components.
• Define and validate non-functional requirements (NFRs) covering scalability, availability, security, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Design caching, performance optimization, and scalability strategies for high-volume B2B commerce applications.
• Define application and integration security architecture, including authentication, authorization, API security, and data protection.
• Establish observability strategies covering logging, monitoring, tracing, alerting, and application health.
• Conduct architecture, technical, and code reviews to ensure adherence to defined standards and best practices.
• Identify technical risks, architectural constraints, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, developers, UX/UI designers, QA teams, SAP teams, and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development and engineering teams.
• Support technical estimation, solution feasibility assessments, and implementation planning.
• Ensure architectural decisions are appropriately documented and maintained in platforms such as Confluence.

Technical Skills / Experience

• Strong experience in Headless Shopify architecture and B2B commerce solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and Next.js.
• Extensive knowledge of Shopify Storefront API and Admin API.
• Good understanding of Shopify B2B Companies, Company Locations, catalogs, pricing, and customer-specific commerce capabilities.
• Strong experience in integration architecture and enterprise integration patterns.
• Proficiency in REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Experience designing and implementing SAP integration patterns, particularly for commerce and order-to-cash processes.
• Experience with middleware / iPaaS platforms and API integration solutions.
• Strong understanding of application, API, and integration security principles.
• Experience with caching strategies, performance optimization, and scalability.
• Knowledge of observability, monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, and alerting.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture and modern web application development is preferred.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and automated deployment processes is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong experience with Shopify Plus / Shopify B2B implementations is preferred.
• Experience integrating Shopify with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC is an advantage.
• Relevant cloud, architecture, Shopify, or enterprise integration certifications are a plus.
