Position Overview
We are looking for a technically skilled and responsible Shift Engineer to manage and monitor shift-wise production activities, ensure the smooth operation of Injection Moulding Machines, and maintain production, quality, and safety standards. The role requires hands‑on experience in machine handling, process monitoring, troubleshooting, and effective coordination with operators and cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor day‑to‑day production activities during the assigned shift.
- Ensure the smooth operation and efficient functioning of Injection Moulding Machines and related equipment.
- Achieve daily production targets while maintaining the required quality standards.
- Monitor machine parameters, cycle time, process conditions, and overall production efficiency.
- Handle and operate Injection Moulding Machines and ensure proper process control.
- Identify and troubleshoot machine‑ and process‑related issues to minimize production downtime.
- Coordinate with machine operators and technicians to ensure smooth shift operations.
- Effectively manage manpower allocation and ensure optimum utilization of available resources.
- Monitor production output, rejection levels, downtime, and process efficiency.
- Maintain accurate shift‑wise production reports, downtime records, and other relevant documentation.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance and Quality teams for timely resolution of technical and quality‑related issues.
- Identify opportunities to reduce rejection, improve productivity, and optimize production processes.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, SOPs, and company policies.
- Maintain proper workplace discipline and ensure adherence to operational procedures.
- Ensure effective handover of production status, machine conditions, and pending issues to the next shift.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Hands‑on experience in operating and handling Injection Moulding Machines.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of machine parameters, cycle time, and production processes.
- Ability to effectively manage and coordinate shift manpower.
- Good communication and team‑handling skills.
- Ability to work effectively under production targets and deadlines.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
- Willingness and ability to work in rotational shifts.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / CPET or equivalent technical qualification.
Experience
- Candidates with practical experience in operating and handling Injection Moulding Machines will be preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment will be an advantage.
