Job summary

Sonata Software in Bengaluru (Bangalore) is seeking a Principal Solution Architect for SharePoint Online and On-Premises to lead enterprise engagements from discovery through migration and modernization.

The role requires deep expertise in architecture, security, governance, Microsoft 365 integration, and advisory services, with the ability to guide engineering teams and customer stakeholders through complex deployments.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of IT experience with SharePoint and Microsoft technologies.
• Hands-on and architectural expertise in SharePoint Online and On-Premises.
• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale SharePoint solutions.
• Strong knowledge of architecture, security, governance, search, content management, and integration.
• Experience with migration and modernization initiatives.
• Understanding of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
• Power Platform and SharePoint customization experience preferred.
• Strong customer-facing consulting and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead complex technical engagements independently.
• Excellent communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, modernization, migration, and strategy for enterprise customers.

• Lead migration and modernization from legacy environments to SharePoint Online.

Job Summary

Job Title: Principal Solution Architect - SharePoint Online & On-Premises

Location: Bangalore/Hyderabad

The ideal candidate is a Principal-level SharePoint Architect / SME who combines deep expertise in SharePoint Online and SharePoint Server On-Premises with strong capabilities in architecture, migration, modernization, security, governance, Microsoft 365 integration, and customer advisory. The candidate should be able to independently lead complex SharePoint engagements from discovery and architecture through migration, implementation, troubleshooting, and modernization, while providing technical direction to engineering teams and senior customer stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead SharePoint architecture, solution design, modernization, migration, and technical strategy for enterprise customers.
• Design scalable and secure SharePoint Online and SharePoint On-Premises solutions.
• Conduct customer discovery sessions, architecture workshops, assessments, and design reviews.
• Lead SharePoint migration and modernization initiatives from legacy SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online.
• Define SharePoint information architecture, governance, security, permissions, content management, and site architecture.
• Provide technical leadership for complex SharePoint incidents, performance issues, and production challenges.
• Review existing SharePoint environments and identify opportunities for cloud adoption, modernization, optimization, and automation.
• Provide technical governance, best practices, standards, and mentoring to engineering teams.
• Work with Microsoft 365, Azure, Security, Identity, and other technology teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Communicate architecture decisions, technical risks, recommendations, and roadmaps to senior customer stakeholders.

Qualifications & Required Skills

• 15+ years of overall IT experience with significant experience in SharePoint and Microsoft technologies.
• Strong hands-on and architectural experience with SharePoint Online and SharePoint On-Premises.
