Job summary

Sonata Software is seeking a Principal Solution Architect – SharePoint Online & On‑Premises to lead architecture, migration, and modernization across hybrid environments. You will drive strategic design, governance, and security while guiding engineering teams and engaging senior customer stakeholders.

You will partner with Microsoft 365, Azure, and security teams to deliver integrated solutions, mentor teams, and shape roadmaps for enterprise clients.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of IT experience with substantial SharePoint and Microsoft tech exposure.
• Hands‑on and architectural expertise in SharePoint Online and SharePoint On‑Premises.
• Proven track record designing and delivering enterprise‑scale SharePoint solutions.
• Strong knowledge of architecture, security, governance, search, content management, and integration.
• Experience with migration and modernization projects across cloud and on‑premises.

Responsibilities

• Lead SharePoint architecture, design, modernization, migration, and strategy for enterprise customers.
• Design scalable, secure SharePoint Online and On‑Premises solutions.
• Conduct discovery sessions, architecture workshops, assessments, and reviews.
• Lead migrations from legacy SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online.
• Define information architecture, governance, security, permissions, and site architecture.
• Provide technical leadership for incidents, performance issues, and production challenges.
• Review environments to identify cloud adoption and modernization opportunities.
• Mentor engineering teams on governance, best practices, and standards.
• Collaborate with Microsoft 365, Azure, Security, Identity teams for integrated solutions.
• Communicate architecture decisions, risks, recommendations, and roadmaps to stakeholders.

• Strong hands‑on and architectural experience with SharePoint Online and SharePoint On‑Premises.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise‑scale SharePoint solutions.
• Strong knowledge of SharePoint architecture, security, governance, search, content management, and integration.
• Proven experience with SharePoint migration and modernization.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Experience with Power Platform and SharePoint customization is preferred.
• Strong customer‑facing consulting and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead complex technical engagements independently.
• Excellent communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
