As a Release Manager, you will have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new division created within one of the largest technology providers in the world. The Salesforce practice is a major contributor within the division and operates with the qualities of an entrepreneurial start‑up. Why the Role Is Important
The Release Manager will be responsible for executing deployments for Salesforce.com and related cloud services. This includes defining the way releases are handled, ensuring that all functionality is delivered smoothly and efficiently to our customers. While this role does not involve management of direct reports, it requires strong facilitation and leadership of cross‑functional teams. The ideal candidate leverages data to challenge assumptions, identify solutions, and drive continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate and coordinate with Project Teams, Service and Project Managers, and Functional Release Managers to understand demand, prepare landscape and sandbox setup proposals, and lead the deployment process.
- Maintain an Enterprise Release Calendar.
- Remain flexible with scheduling, performing deployments at any time and staying longer if needed.
- Plan and support project cutovers, oversee deployments, manage releases according to organization standards, adhere to timelines, ensure appropriate resources, and communicate status.
- Serve as the Subject‑Matter Expert for the release management tool, supporting and training team members.
- Mitigate risks during code conflict and merging, ensure quality code in production, conduct release reviews, and decide on Go‑Live for business requirements.
- Apply Salesforce platform knowledge: refresh sandboxes, package and deploy metadata, understand release branching strategies, code merging, and conflict resolution.
- Utilize release management tools—Copado, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Jira, Git, Visual Studio, Ant, etc.
Required Qualifications
- Copado certified.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on the Salesforce platform, including release management, Salesforce Administration, and implementation of Salesforce.com solutions.
- At least 4 years as a Salesforce Release Manager in an enterprise‑level environment.
- 4+ years of experience with Copado.
- Salesforce.com Administrator and Developer certifications.
Preferred Experience
- Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and functionality.
- Experience managing release processes for business‑onboarding projects and data migrations.
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce metadata and release management on an enterprise, multi‑org scale.
- Familiarity with source control systems (e.g., GitHub) and effective code branching/merging strategies.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, GIT source control, VS Code IDEs, branching and merging.
- Agile/Scrum/Lean or other Agile SDLC methodology experience; certifications such as Scrum Alliance CSM/CSP, PMI ACP, Lean, Kanban are preferred.
- Salesforce Platform Developer 1 certification is a plus.
