Job summary

NewRocket is hiring a ServiceNow Senior Software Engineer with SecOps to lead a team delivering customizations on large-scale professional services projects. You will implement and develop solutions based on requirements using best practices and internal standards.

You will gain exposure to advanced ServiceNow environments, receive official ServiceNow training and certifications, and contribute to delivering valuable outcomes for enterprise clients.

Qualifications

• Four-year bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
• Willingness to advance ServiceNow certifications and module accreditations.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL foundations and CSA/CAD desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interface with end-users and stakeholders to gather SecOps requirements (VR & SIR).
• Customize ServiceNow apps and support rollout of new features and modules, including UI, workflows and business logic.
• Configure integrations between ServiceNow via REST/SOAP and other applications.
• Guide customers on ITSM, Service Catalog, and B2B integrations to meet business needs.
• Collaborate with SMEs to obtain environment information for service maps and event work.
• Validate impact rules within service maps with SMEs and stakeholders.
• Participate in user acceptance testing of maps, rules and event management work.
• Promote update sets and data across SN environments.
• Remediate production incidents related to this scope.
• Align with the SN technical lead to maintain consistent patterns.
• Maintain operational documentation and SOPs to reduce risk.

The Role

NewRocket is a global team made up of ServiceNow professionals who help our customers run and grow their ServiceNow environments. We are hiring a ServiceNow Senior Software Engineer with SecOps. The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for leading, coaching and mentoring a team of Software Engineers who provide the development of project professional services for customers. The Senior Software Engineer will implement and develop customizations based on functional and technical requirements using leading practices and internal code standards on large-scale more complex professional services projects.

What You Will Be Doing

• As a Senior Software Engineer, you will interface with end-users, key stakeholders to gather systems requirements for SecOps (VR & SIR)
• You will customize ServiceNow applications and support the rollout of new features and modules, including configuration of application UI, workflows, and business logic
• Configuring integrations between ServiceNow via REST/SOAP web and other applications
• Strong experience with ITSM, Service catlog & B2B Integrations and can guide customers through understanding technical solutions to their business requirements
• Interact with technical SMEs to get necessary environment information to support your service map and event work
• Reflect impact assessment rules within service maps and validate with technical SMEs and stakeholders
• Participate in user acceptance testing of the resulting maps, impact rules and event management work
• Promote your update sets and data across applicable SN environments
• Remediate any production incidents that arise related to this scope
• Align with existing SN technical lead for map/event work to ensure consistent approach that does not break shared patterns
• Proactively maintain operational documentation and SOPs to reduce support risk & inefficiency

What You Bring Along

• 5+ years’ experience supporting the implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development of ServiceNow in 2 or more capabilities SecOps (SIR&VR).
• Strong Experience in SecOps
• Experience with integration between ServiceNow and other systems/platforms using both mid servers and cloud to cloud
• Experience working with Web Services Integration (SOAP, REST) and any bi-directional, automated integration between two systems.
• Data Extraction Technologies (e.g. JDBC, ODBC) or ETL integrations
• Proven experience with implementing ServiceNow ITSM, Service Catalog, and Workflows to meet business requirements
• Experience in all aspects of ServiceNow scripting including Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Builder, Scripted REST APIs, and Script Includes
• Ability to create technical design documents and user documentation

Education

• A four-year undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or demonstrated work experience

Certifications & Knowledge

The candidate must be willing and able to continue their education within the ServiceNow platform and beyond. It is expected that the candidate will be able to complete ServiceNow competency Certifications as well as Module Accreditations.
