What you'll do:
As a ServiceNow Developer, you will build and maintain solutions across ITSM, ITOM, Discovery & Event Management, and HRSD, working closely with the Development Tech Lead and Technical Architect to deliver against the platform roadmap. You will bring an AI-first mindset to every build, leveraging ServiceNow's native AI capabilities to automate and enhance processes alongside strong hands-on scripting, integration, and Service Portal development skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solution Development: Build and maintain solutions across ITSM, HRSD, ITOM, and Discovery & Event Management, configuring workflows and Flow Designer flows in line with an AI-first approach.
- Process Automation: Identify and implement opportunities to use ServiceNow's native AI capabilities (Virtual Agents, Predictive Intelligence, AI-powered search) to automate manual steps.
- Analytics & Reporting: Develop and analyze reports and Performance Analytics dashboards to surface data-driven insights for process governors and stakeholders.
- Portal Enhancement: Build and enhance Service Portal and Employee Center experiences, applying modern web technologies to deliver responsive, intuitive interfaces.
- Custom Scripting: Develop and maintain client-side and server-side scripts (Business Rules, Script Actions, Script Includes, Scripted REST Endpoints) following secure coding practices.
- Integrations: Integrate ServiceNow with external platforms and monitoring tools using REST, SOAP, FTP, Flow Designer, and OOTB plugins (e.g., MS Teams, Jira, Workday, PagerDuty, OpsGenie, GitLab).
- CMDB & Discovery Support: Support CMDB and Discovery work by mapping CSDM capabilities to the CMDB table hierarchy for clean, well-classified hardware and software CIs.
- Technical Debt Reduction: Analyze business requirements and map them to out-of-the-box (OOTB) functionality, transitioning custom configurations to standard modules.
- Platform Maintenance: Support ongoing platform maintenance, annual ServiceNow upgrades, SLA-based issue resolution, and continuous improvement across modules.
Required Skills:
Must-Have:
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience developing on ServiceNow core applications, including ITSM, HRSD, ITOM, and Discovery & Event Management.
- Strong proficiency in client-side and server-side scripting (Business Rules, Script Includes, Scripted REST Endpoints, GlideSystem/GlideRecord APIs).
- Hands-on experience with Flow Designer, Workflows, Performance Analytics, and Service Portal / Employee Center development.
- Proficiency with web technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, AngularJS, REST, and SOAP.
- Solid understanding of CSDM and the CMDB table hierarchy to facilitate Discovery and infrastructure orchestration.
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with 3rd-party tools (Jira, Workday, MS Teams, PagerDuty, etc.) and maintaining OOTB alignment.
- Awareness of ServiceNow's AI capabilities (Now Assist, Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence).
Preferred:
- Implementation experience with LDAP, SSO, SLAs, and ITAM (SAM / HAM).
- Exposure to IRM, SecOps, or OT modules.
- ServiceNow Certifications: CSA (System Administrator), CAD (Application Developer), or CIS (Discovery / Service Mapping / Data Foundations).
- Experience operating in a global enterprise / GCC environment.
