Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer/Engineer to lead CMDB, Discovery and Service Mapping initiatives in Bangalore. You will drive design, development and optimization across platform components, ensuring data quality and operational resilience in enterprise settings.

The role requires deep technical expertise, platform engineering discipline and hands-on development in ServiceNow, with focus on automations, integrations and audit/compliance alignment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading design, development and optimization of CMDB, Discovery and Service Mapping.
• Strong scripting in JavaScript and ServiceNow development fundamentals.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex platform problems in large environments.

Responsibilities

Role Overview We are seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Developer/Engineer to lead parts of the design, development, and optimization of CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping capabilities. This role is critical to advancing data quality, service visibility, and operational resilience, supporting enterprise initiatives such as cyber defense, asset management, and rapid incident remediation. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong platform engineering discipline, and a proven ability to operate in large-scale, highly governed ServiceNow environments.

JavaScript development and scripting proficiency. ServiceNow development fundamentals and platform architecture. Ability to independently troubleshoot and solve technical problems. Practical application of CMDB, Discovery, and related ServiceNow concepts. Real-world development experience.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & Development Design and develop scalable solutions across: CMDB (aligned to CSDM) ServiceNow Discovery Service Mapping (top-down and tag-based) Build and maintain robust patterns for service modeling, CI relationships, and dependency mapping Develop custom scripts, integrations, and automation using: Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer, REST/SOAP APIs Optimize platform performance and data ingestion pipelines (Discovery, integrations, cloud sources).

CMDB & Data Governance Drive CMDB health and maturity: Completeness, correctness, compliance, and reconciliation Implement and enforce: Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules Data certification and lifecycle management Partner with stakeholders to ensure strong data ownership and stewardship models.

Discovery & Service Mapping Engineering Engineer and optimize: Horizontal Discovery (on-prem, cloud, hybrid) Service Mapping patterns, probes, sensors, and credentials Troubleshoot complex discovery and mapping issues (e.g., misidentification, duplicate CIs, pattern failures) Build reusable patterns for: Common application stacks Cloud-native and containerized services Integrate with external tools (e.g., Datadog, AWS, Azure, SCCM, JAMF).

Integration & Automation Design integrations to enrich CMDB and service context: Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) Monitoring/observability tools Asset and software systems Automate CI lifecycle updates and service dependency mapping.

Operational Excellence Ensure solutions meet audit, risk, and compliance requirements Support incident, problem, and vulnerability management use cases through accurate CMDB/service mapping Contribute to platform standards, reusable components, and engineering best practices.
