Job summary

Orbis Systems is seeking a Service Engineer to deliver on-site and remote support for our test systems. You will install, calibrate, repair, and upgrade complex measurement equipment, including RF chambers and automation fixtures. You’ll work closely with customers, gather feedback, and ensure documented follow-ups.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, independent work, and excellent communication in English. Travel and shift work are expected to meet service commitments across client sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Technical degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or Instrumentation and Control Engineering or Electronics and Telecommunication or Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years’ experience in professional electronics/telecommunication service hands on.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify faults and provide solutions.

• Provide on-site and remote service support for Orbis Test Systems products.
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance to meet uptime terms.
• Onsite repairs of test systems, RF chambers, and related subsystems including electrical and mechanical components.

Job description

Service Engineer key responsibility areas and main tasks:

Provide on-site and remote service support to customers as needed for delivery installation, SAT (Site acceptance testing), repairs, and other technical support for all Orbis Test Systems supplied products.

- Be onsite to carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance so that we meet the uptime terms agreed in the Contract /LSA

Description of the job

• Responsible for timely after sales service, technical support, Onsite Installations/Ramp up Functions
• To perform onsite Repairs of Orbis Systems supplied Test systems, RF Chambers, RF test systems & Products, Jigs & Fixtures, Signal Switching Units including RF measurement system, Electrical, electronics, electro-mechanical & mechanical sub-systems, and OTA systems
• Capable of Troubleshooting Automated fixture/test system on customer site
• Knowledge of Test Software (SW modifications) based on Orbis Systems platform to meet customized requirements - Familiar with preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, system upgrades so on.
• Work with the customer to suggest appropriate spare parts Requirements to reduce device down time
• Collect customer feedback to products and convey to Service/design Lead
• Prepare weekly /monthly reports and maintain records pertaining to all repairs, replacement parts, calibrations and modifications of the work done / issues to be handled.
• To meet other tasks assigned by supervisor
• Participate in Orbis Systems service, sales and engineering team reviews locally and globally.
• Need to work in shifts as per the need/demand

• This position creates possibilities to work in service team to move from Service Engineer to Sr. Service Engineer, Product Specialist to Team Lead.
• This position also allows moving across to other functions such as Engineering, R&D etc depending on Skills, past performance and company needs.

Qualification

Diploma/Technical degree (Bachelor) - Electronics and Communication Engineering / Instrumentation and Control Engineering / Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering / Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Work Experience

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in professional electronics/telecommunication industry service hands on.
• Good Experience in Test system support, including RF measurement technology, Automation, Electrical and Mechanical relative maintenance
• Strong know-how of troubleshooting, identifying faults & finding innovative solutions
• Experience with Communication Test & Measurement integration system like base station test system will be helpful
• Familiar with 5G RF & OTA and Automation test technologies, solutions and applications will be considered as key selection factors

Special skills/requirements for the job

Strong manipulative ability & willingness to learn new things

Basic understanding of tests and measurements concept & understanding of testing technology and related trends.

Must be able to communicate with customers and stakeholders (internal/external)

To be prepared for Flexible working hours, willing to travel a lot.

This position needs person who has strong experience to work independently. To Handle customer face to face and to be a contact point between company and the customer.
