Job summary

Kibo Commerce is seeking an early career UI engineer to join our team and help orchestrate AI tools to build high-performance interfaces for a global commerce platform. You will be an AI-native developer who prototypes, styles, and tests React components while maintaining production standards.

You will convert Figma designs into accessible, pixel-perfect UI with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind, write comprehensive frontend tests with Jest and Playwright, and push toward fast, reliable rendering

Qualifications

• 5+ years of frontend development experience with React.
• Experience owning features end-to-end from design to deployment.
• Strong proficiency with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Experience architecting component libraries or design systems.
• Solid grounding in typography, layout, accessibility (WCAG) and interaction design.
• Proven ability to debug ambiguous issues and make architectural trade-offs.
• Experience writing frontend tests with Jest, React Testing Library, or Playwright.
• Familiarity with Claude Design or similar AI-native tools.

Your work will ensure that AI-generated UI code meets strict requirements for accessibility and pixel-perfect design across our global commerce platform.

WHAT YOULL DO

• Build responsive web components using React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Accelerate the creation of UI layouts and design system components using AI coding tools.
• Provide AI tools with specific context like style guides and JSON schemas to generate high-quality UI code.
• Generate comprehensive unit tests using Jest and Playwright to ensure stability across browsers.
• Transform Figma designs into functional React code through AI-assisted workflows.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development with a strong focus on React.
• Proven experience owning features end-to-end, from design through deployment.
• Deep fluency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) as a core part of your daily workflow.
• Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and utility-first frameworks like Tailwind CSS.
• Demonstrated experience architecting component libraries or design systems, not just building individual components.
• Solid grounding in design principles — typography, layout, accessibility (WCAG), and interaction design.
• A track record as a strong problem solver who can debug ambiguous issues and make sound architectural trade-offs independently.
• Experience writing frontend tests with Jest, React Testing Library, or Playwright.
• Solid understanding of Git and collaborative workflows including code reviews.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience giving technical direction to other engineers.
• Familiarity with Claude Design or similar AI-native design/prototyping tools.
