Job summary

AtkinsRéalis India Private Limited seeks a Civil Engineer with 2–4 years in the water sector to deliver water resources projects. You will participate in hydrodynamic modelling, GIS work, and reporting, collaborating with international teams. Knowledge of SWMM, MIKE, ArcGIS, and data analysis is valued.

Job Description Overview

Water Management Consultancy (WMC) is a key part of the Infrastructure division within AtkinsRéalis’ Water and Environment Business. Serving both UK and international clients, our projects span flood defence, hydraulic structures, ports, and maritime engineering. The WMC team brings together a diverse range of expertise, including river and coastal engineering, hydrology, hydraulics, dam engineering, hydraulic gates, and maritime engineering. In this role, you'll be instrumental in delivering a variety of projects, with a particular emphasis on integrated water management. This includes hydrodynamic catchment modelling, sustainable drainage, water-sensitive urban design, river restoration, software development, research, and client and stakeholder engagement. This opportunity is ideal for those seeking technical challenges and looking to contribute to advanced, industry-leading projects.

Your role

Be highly motivated, proactive, and possess a "can-do" attitude. Be skilled in collaborative working, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate strong organizational and time management abilities. Be flexible and open to new challenges. International experience. Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards Chartership. Proficiency in coding/programming (R, VBA, Python) is a plus.

Requirements

A strong academic background with a degree in Civil Engineering and/or a master’s degree in Water Resources/Environment/Water Management/Hydrology, with 2 to 4 years of experience in the water industry. Experience in any WQ modelling using SWMM, WASP, SWAT, Qual2k, RIOT, HEWRAT, MIKE, SAGIS-SIMCAT, Infoworks ICM. Strong Data and Statistical analysis skills using Excel, R, SPSS, PowerBI etc. Provide modelling inputs and analysis to support the Water Quality studies/ Assessments. Perform sensitivity testing to quantify uncertainty in model parameters and components. Proficiency in GIS, including MapInfo, ArcGIS, and open-source GIS tools. An understanding of the overall WQ parameters and treatment processes. Working towards achieving Chartered status. Ability to produce clear and concise technical reports in English. Effective communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and clients via video conferencing. Adherenceto quality procedures and maintaining high standards in your work. Enthusiasm for learning new skills and work procedures.
