We are looking for an experienced Senior Unreal Engine Developer / Programmer to build high-quality, scalable and performance-optimized real-time 3D interactive applications using Unreal Engine 5.
The role involves technical ownership across application architecture, runtime systems, UI, 3D content pipelines, API integration and performance optimization. Experience in real-time visualization, configurators, architectural visualization, simulation, digital twins, automotive visualization, AR/VR or similar interactive 3D applications will be highly valued.
Unreal Engine 5: Strong hands-on knowledge of Unreal C++, Blueprints, Actors/Components, UObjects, Subsystems, Delegates/Events, Interfaces, Data Assets, Data Tables, Asset Manager, Async Loading, Gameplay Framework, packaging and deployment.
C++: Strong OOP, Unreal memory management, smart pointers, containers, delegates, multithreading, asynchronous programming and performance-conscious C++ development.
Runtime Asset Management: Experience with Asset Manager, runtime loading, streaming, soft references and async loading. Exposure to PAK files, content chunks, DLC/patching, runtime mounting, cloud/CDN asset delivery, runtime textures or glTF/GLB loading is highly desirable.
Datasmith experience is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Datasmith Runtime/Direct Link and workflows involving SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, Rhino, Blender, Maya, FBX, glTF/GLB or USD/OpenUSD is advantageous. Candidates experienced in building workflows between external 3D applications and Unreal Engine will be preferred.
Experience integrating Unreal with REST APIs, JSON, WebSockets, authentication, JWT/OAuth concepts and asynchronous API communication. Backend/database knowledge such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, cloud storage and CDN systems is advantageous; direct backend development is not mandatory.
Strong understanding of Material Editor, Master Materials, Material Instances, Dynamic Material Instances, PBR, runtime textures, texture streaming, Material Parameter Collections, Lumen, Nanite, Virtual Shadow Maps, lighting and post-processing.
Strong UI programming experience with UMG, Common UI, MVVM, data-driven UI, dynamic UI generation and UI-to-application communication is highly desirable.
Datasmith experience is strongly preferred. Experience with Git and/or Perforce, Visual Studio/Rider, Unreal C++ debugging, source control, build and packaging. Automated builds and CI/CD knowledge is advantageous.
Preference for candidates with professional experience in real-time/product/automotive configurators, architectural visualization, digital twins, simulation, enterprise Unreal applications, interactive visualization, AR/VR, virtual production, CAD/BIM visualization or runtime content pipelines.
Additional advantages include Unreal plugin development, Python, AWS/Azure, Pixel Streaming, NVIDIA Omniverse, OpenUSD, Docker, cloud/CDN systems and multi-platform deployment.
You should be able to understand complex requirements, propose Unreal architecture, build reusable systems, evaluate technical approaches, prototype new capabilities, identify limitations early, debug complex runtime problems and optimize systems for production.
You should be comfortable taking ownership of features from concept through deployment, working independently and collaborating with artists, technical artists, designers and backend engineers.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Game Development or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory. Strong practical Unreal Engine experience and demonstrated technical ability are more important than formal qualifications.
