Philips Iberica SAU is seeking a Senior Test Architect for Mobile Apps to define and own the testing strategy, tooling choices, and automation vision across Android and iOS platforms. You will shape the framework, drive shift-left practices, and ensure CI/CD gates reflect quality at every stage.
The role requires 15+ years in software testing with at least 5 years as a Test Architect in mobile domains, deep expertise in Python, Appium, Selenium, and strong stakeholder management.
Your Role
TheTest Architectistechnically-focused— ensuring the testing ecosystem (strategy, frameworks, tools, pipelines) is robust, scalable, and compliant by design and market standards.
Owns test strategy, tooling decisions, framework design and automation vision. Accountable for quality and engineering excellence (Craftsmanship).
Analyses defect patterns (root-cause, clustering by module/device); recommends systemic fixes
Attends standup as needed; advises on technical blockers, environment issues or framework gaps.
Authors and maintains the overarchingTest Strategy document(risk-based, model-based, exploratory); defines coverage models, test levels (unit → system → acceptance), and device/OS matrix for mobiles.
Defines quality attributes & KPIs (code coverage thresholds, mutation score, static-analysis rules); designs guardrails in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., blocking merge on test failure).
Architects the test suite to be comprehensive enough to catch issues pre-release; designs shift-left practices (contract tests, API-level validation) to reduce late-found defects. Participate in feature design review to understand testability and failure mode reviews.
Designs parallelized test execution, test data management, smart test selection (impact analysis), and optimized CI pipelines to reduce duration.
Owns the AI & automation architecture: framework selection, layer split (UI vs API vs unit), mobile-specific tooling (Appium/Detox/Espresso/XCUITest), and maintainability standards.
Defines thebranching strategy(e.g., GitFlow, trunk-based with feature flags); sets up automated smoke/regression suites that gate RC promotion; ensures test environments mirror branch structure.
Mentors testers on technical skills (automation, tooling, medical domain nuances); sets coding standards for test code; defines architecture of automation. Represent Cross Functional (PH/PIC Mobile)Architect forum to bring in learnings to drive best practices in OHC.
Selects and architects toolchain (e.g., Appium + Jenkins/GitHub Actions); ensures tools producetraceable, auditable artefacts(timestamped logs, screenshots, video);NPSS
Reviews templates and drives automated report generation (e.g., RGT++); ensures test framework outputs feed directly into QMS artefacts with minimal manual effort. Conducts Design and Code review for automation.
Provides technical evidence during audits (tool qualification records, framework validation, automated traceability); supports the Test Manager with deep-dive technical answers on test coverage and methodology.
Brings in automation, latest tooling to reduce costs and software tools/licenses – advocate usage of opensource tools
Minimum required Education:
Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
Minimum required Experience:
At least 15+ years overall work experience and 5+ years as a Test architect in mobile application domain (Android & iOS)
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
