Job summary

WSP India is seeking an experienced engineering draftsman to support the Middle East Power & Energy projects in India. You will develop detailed 2D/3D drawings, SLDs, PFDs, P&ID, and layouts for energy infrastructure, coordinating with civil, mechanical, electrical teams.

Role emphasizes adhering to drafting standards, BOM preparation, and improving design workflows. You will mentor junior designers and participate in design reviews and client meetings within a global team.

Job Description

To provide technical drafting support to the Middle East Power & Energy business in the field of engineering.

The range of activities includes:

• Preparation and development of engineering deliverables including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), P&ID, Loop Drawings, Cable Block Diagrams, Plant Layouts, Cable Routing and Switchgear Configurations using 2D and 3D design software.
• Development of detailed engineering drawings such as Land Utilization Plans, Elevations, Above & Below Ground Conduit Layouts, Grounding Layouts, Lighting & Lightning Protection Layouts and Bill of Materials.
• Coordination of engineering and design activities with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Networks and Transmission Line disciplines.
• Preparation and revision of engineering drawings from sketches, mark-ups and conceptual layouts.
• Support project execution through compliance with company and client drafting standards, procedures and specifications.
• Participation in design reviews, client meetings and multidisciplinary coordination activities.
• Contribution to design process improvements, workflow enhancement initiatives and implementation of new technologies.

• Identify opportunities for improving design workflows, tools and project execution processes.
• Proactively resolve design coordination issues and support multidisciplinary problem-solving.
• Participate in organizational training programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Self-motivated professional with willingness to learn and develop within the engineering field.
