Job summary

With 5+ years in technical writing, you will leverage MadCap Flare, AI writing tools, and structured authoring while aligning with Agile processes and Azure DevOps workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional technical writing experience.
• Expertise with MadCap Flare and structured authoring methodologies.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted writing tools, prompts, and workflow automation.
• Understanding of Agile development, Azure DevOps, and Azure Storage Explorer.
• Experience using Copilot, Claude or similar AI technologies to improve docs.

Job description

We’re looking for a curious, detail-oriented, and AI-forward Senior Technical Writer to help create exceptional content experiences that empower our customers to get the most from Blackbaud solutions. This role combines technical writing expertise with innovative approaches to content development, leveraging AI-assisted tools and automation to deliver accurate, engaging, and scalable documentation. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll partner across product, engineering, design, and customer-facing functions to translate complex functionality into clear guidance that helps purpose‑driven organizations achieve greater impact. In this role, you'll help shape how knowledge is created, delivered, and maintained, while advancing modern documentation practices that improve customer experiences and increase team efficiency through the responsible use of AI technologies.

What you’ll do

• Create high-quality user documentation, including online help, tutorials, release content, and knowledge resources using MadCap Flare.
• Accelerate content delivery by leveraging AI-powered tools, agents, prompts, and automation capabilities to improve productivity, consistency, and quality.
• Transform product requirements, technical specifications, and user stories into clear, accessible, and user-centered documentation.
• Partner with product managers, developers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather information, validate content, and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Drive documentation excellence by establishing and maintaining standards for clarity, accessibility, consistency, and usability.
• Manage content development workflows through Azure DevOps and Azure Storage Explorer while supporting efficient documentation lifecycle management.
• Explore, evaluate, and recommend emerging AI technologies and best practices that enhance content operations and customer outcomes.

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years of professional technical writing experience, including experience in a senior-level content development role.
• Expertise with MadCap Flare, structured authoring methodologies, and creating customer-facing technical documentation for software products.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted writing tools, prompt development, workflow automation, and content optimization practices that improve documentation effectiveness.
• Understanding of Agile development processes, user story-driven documentation, Azure DevOps, and Azure Storage Explorer environments.
• Experience producing accurate, scalable, and user-focused content while leveraging tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar AI technologies to improve productivity and quality.
