Delta Technology Hub in Bengaluru, India, seeks an experienced Technical Writer to drive the development and management of aircraft technical instructions for Delta’s fleet. You will ensure compliance with FAA regulations, ATA standards, and TOPP policies while coordinating with multiple departments to align content with required standards.

The role requires 8–12 years of aircraft maintenance documentation experience, strong communication skills, and expertise in SGML/S1000D/XML.

Qualifications

• License or degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and experience as a Technical Writer.
• 8–12 years of related experience.
• Experience with AMM, IPC, EMM manuals and related documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of SGML, S1000D, XML and related authoring standards.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations and TOPP policies.

How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)

• Responsible for overall development, authoring, and management of aircraft technical instructions utilized on Delta’s fleet of aircraft and/or engines.
• Must ensure compliance to FAA Regulations, Engineering documentation, and other substantiating data as outlined in the Technical Operation Policies & Procedures (TOPP).
• Must work closely with numerous departments including Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Engineering, Maintenance, Materials, Production Control, Supplier Operations and others to ensure all aircraft manual content meets FAA, ATA, and Delta standards.
• Must ensure safety conscious behaviors are incorporated into all procedures.
• Position requires a thorough knowledge of commercial aviation documentation and guidance specifications (i.e. ATA 100, iSpec2200, S1000D, and etc).

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

• Aircraft Maintenance Engineering license (or applicable degree) with direct experience as a Technical Writer.
• 8-12 years of experience required.
• Must have previous aircraft maintenance experience with thorough knowledge and understanding of aircraft manuals (Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), Engine Maintenance Manual (EMM), etc. used for inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing of aircraft and engines.
• Should be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communications skills, able to handle several projects simultaneously with minimum supervision, must be well-organized, and able to prioritize work to meet established deadlines.
• Must have very strong computer skills with knowledge and experience in structured authoring preferred (SGML, S1000D, XML and etc).
• Must embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles.
• Guide and mentor “Engineers” within the WISG team to deliver on key business objectives.
