Job summary

Heads Up For Tails seeks a Senior Technical Lead - QA to drive quality across our consumer ecommerce platforms (Web & Mobile) and backend systems, including Odoo ERP integrations. You will lead a high-performing QA team, shaping automation strategy, and accelerating delivery with AI-assisted testing.

You will mentor 4-6 SDETs, implement scalable automation, and embed testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable deployments while maintaining zero-regression standards.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years in Software Quality Engineering with hands-on automation and leadership.
• Experience testing B2C e-commerce and ERP integrations (Odoo or similar).
• Proficient in Python, Java, or JavaScript and SQL (PostgreSQL).
• Strong automation framework experience with the listed tools.
• Awareness of AI-assisted testing and CI/CD practices.

About The Role

We are seeking a forward-thinking Senior Technical Lead - QA to lead, scale, and transform our Quality Engineering practice. In this role, you will oversee end-to-end quality across our consumer-facing e-commerce applications (Web & Mobile) and our core backend systems, including Odoo ERP integrations (inventory, OMS, Sale/Purchase, and retail POS).

About The Role

We are seeking a forward-thinking Senior Technical Lead - QA to lead, scale, and transform our Quality Engineering practice. In this role, you will oversee end-to-end quality across our consumer-facing e-commerce applications (Web & Mobile) and our core backend systems, including Odoo ERP integrations (inventory, OMS, Sale/Purchase, and retail POS). You will lead a high-performing team of QA Engineers, building a high-velocity, low-defect delivery ecosystem. Additionally, you will pioneer the adoption of AI-assisted testing tools and workflows to automate test case generation, optimize regression runs, and elevate overall developer and QA productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• E2E Quality Architecture: Design and maintain scalable, robust automation frameworks for Web, Mobile (iOS/Android), and REST APIs across high-traffic e-commerce systems.
• Odoo ERP & Backend Validation: Lead integration testing between front-end storefronts and Odoo ERP modules (order state transitions, inventory sync, warehouse flows, and payment reconciliations etc.).
• AI-Augmented QA: Integrate AI/LLM tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, automated test generators, visual regression) into daily workflows to cut regression overhead and boost QA/dev productivity.
• CI/CD & Shift-Left Testing: Embed automated suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins) to enable fast, reliable daily deployments with zero-manual-regression overhead.
• Performance & Scalability: Plan and execute load/stress testing (JMeter, Locust) for flash sales, campaign spikes, and peak seasonal traffic.
• Technical Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and review code for a team of 4-6 SDETs/QA engineers while remaining hands-on with framework architecture.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: 8–10 years in Software Quality Engineering with strong hands-on automation expertise and proven technical leadership.
• E-Commerce & ERP Domain: Strong background testing B2C e-commerce platforms and backend integrations with Odoo ERP (or similar enterprise OMS/WMS platforms).
• Core Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in Python or Java/JavaScript, along with solid SQL skills (PostgreSQL) for complex data verification.
• Automation Frameworks: Deep hands-on experience with Appium, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or RestAssured.
• AI-Assisted Engineering: Working familiarity with using AI coding assistants and LLM workflows to automate edge-case discovery, script authoring, and test triage.
• Performance & API Testing: Strong grasp of Postman, Newman, JMeter/Locust, and microservices architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Odoo module architectures, PostgreSQL datastores, and Python-based custom modules.
• Experience in omnichannel retail setups bridging online platforms with physical store/POS operations.
