Job summary

Thales India Private Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, seeks a Senior / Technical Lead for Avionics Flight Display Systems. You will drive software development activities from requirements to V&V for DO-178B/C compliant avionics software, using Embedded C and RTOS in a multi-disciplinary team.

The role demands 7–12 years of experience, expertise in IMA, A429/A664 protocols, MISRA, and strong design and testing skills.

Qualifications

• Expert in Embedded C programming with ARM platforms.
• Strong RTOS, scheduling and memory management.
• Experience with IMA avionics and DO-178B/C.
• Knowledge of MISRA coding standards.
• Experience with avionics protocols A429, A664 (AFDX), RS232.
• Familiarity with Cockpit Display and Flight/Multi-Function displays.

Senior / Technical Lead –Avionics SW

Thales India Engineering Competency Center is seeking a Senior / Technical Lead to be part of its Avionics Flight Display Systems. The Senior / Technical Lead is in charge of the software development activities (Requirement Capturing, Design, Code and V&V), in order to deliver software that meet requirements coming from a Business Lines (B/L), with the adequate quality and maturity level, within schedule and budget.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication or equivalent discipline with 7 to 12 years of relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Senior / Technical Lead, you will be a major actor in the software development phase using approach with C /Embedded C. In more details:

• Development of Platform & Application Software with a good understanding of complex architectures, Scheduling, multi thread program development, RTOS, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for avionics systems (Flight Display System) as per DO178B/C standards
• Demonstrate the technical capabilities in software projects.
• Perform Peer reviews of high level Specifications & Dev artifacts.
• Debugging, bug fixing & enhancements on existing Software.
• To perform Development free hands testing & regression on existing features.
• Ensure quality deliveries before hand-off to Quality Assurance teams for further testing and verification.
• Participate in an AGILE team involved in the development phases by respecting deadlines and contractual milestones.
• Contribute in the development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics.
• Provide new product/lean-process ideas and contribute to deploy them.

Minimum Skills/Experience:

• EXPERT in Embedded C Programming Language.
• EXPERT in Memory usage, Scheduling and execution time allocation.
• Good understanding of Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) and RTOS
• Candidate should be Strong in RTRT OR LDRA or other Testing tools Unit Test language & hands on experience in verification.
• Knowledge in Data Structures and Data base management.
• Good experience on Cockpit Display and Graphics, Primary Flight Display, Multi-Functional Display, Flight Management System functionality
• Knowledge in DO178B/C is required and Knowledge of Coding standards e.g. MISRA.
• Candidate should be strong in writing System Specification, High Level Requirements & Low Level Requirements. Also Strong in High Level Test & Low level Test definition procedure & hands on experience in verification.
• Should have overall engineering experiences in software development of Avionics embedded system and experience in software Development Life Cycles
• Knowledge in configuration management tools like clearcase or git is required
• Knowledge about avionics protocols (A429, A664 – AFDX, RS232, Arinc653)
• Good organizational abilities. Good interpersonal skills, writing & verbal skills
