Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Technical Application Engineer for its Power Conversion Solutions in Asia Pacific, based in Chennai, India. You will work with customers and sales colleagues to provide superior technical support and help drive growth across the APAC region.

As part of the Global Technical Sales Support team, you will lead technical discussions, deliver presentations, assist in tender strategies, and ensure PCS converter technology is positioned effectively with key customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent; focus on Electrical Power / Energy Systems preferred.
• Knowledge of power system principles and operations at utility and industrial levels.
• Background in Battery Energy Storage Solutions and/or Renewables converter engineering.

Join our global Technical Sales Support team at Hitachi Energys Power Conversion Solutions as a Technical Application Engineer for Asia Pacific, where you will work with customers and sales colleagues to ensure superior technical support. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our business growth at the heart of our global PCS sales team.

How you'll make an impact

As key member of the Global Technical Sales Support team, you will:

• Serve as technical advisor to our key customers and channel partners (Mainly system integrators, developers, IPPs EPCs.)
• During early stage of the sales process, lead technical presentations and direct customer dialogue to highlight the value proposition of PCS Converters, MV-stations Automation/Digital.
• Support sales tender colleagues with technical solutions during sales and tender process.
• Support Sales in every step of the PCS partner program to enable new leads to become new channel partners.
• Work with our key customers and channel partners to ensure PCS converter technology is included and kept in AVLs, including focus with Battery OEMs in collaboration with PCS product Management business development.
• Bring Techno/Commercial inputs to Business Development and Product Management for future needs.
• Attend the various professional fairs/conferences in your region and be the technical ambassador of our PCS technology.
• Support the deployment of technical tools, in close collaboration with PCS product management RD, which are necessary to our channel partners in order to secure superior technical collaboration and win customers trust with PCS converter technology.
• Support winning bids by early influencing our customers on key features and help sales with value propositions.
• Defines in close alignment with the tendering the solution design and verifies the sizing of the solution.
• Contribute together with the Business Development function to a global partner program including contract templates, training and qualification program for partners and marketing support.

Who you are

We are seeking an energized and passionate Senior Technical Application Engineer for our Power Conversion Solutions business in Asia Pacific APAC with location in Chennai, India.

• Proven experience in technical engineering sales support, ideally in the Converter and/or BESS markets
• Ability to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency
• Experience with utility scale power converters for BESS and/or similar technology
• Strong communication skills to align with Process Owners and manage technical sales
• Proven leadership skills

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience. Concentration in Electrical Power / Energy Systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of power system principles and operations at the utility and industrial levels is required.
• Background in Battery Energy Storage Solutions and/or Renewables converter engineering.
