Job summary

Tata Technologies Ltd. is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer to drive the integration of vehicle components and aggregates per customer specifications. You will bridge OEM customers and internal R&D, leading an agile team to deliver world-class products that meet performance targets.

You will own alignment with customers on product specifications, DVPs, and sign-offs, coordinating cross-functional activities from concept to production release to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 10 to 15 years of core vehicle engineering and product development experience.

Position Overview

We are seeking a experienced Senior Lead Engineer to shoulder complete responsibility of integration of Vehicle Components and Aggregates as per the customer specific requirements. You will act as a primary technical bridge between OEM customers and internal R&D.

You will lead an agile team of Engineers to enable delivery of world class product to match customer requirements. You will engage with customer technical teams, steer product requirement discussions, and resolve integration challenges in real time. You will also drive cross-functional alignment to translate customer needs into precise engineering specifications.

Crucially, you will own the complete process for having alignment with customers for the product specifications, Performance Targets and Attributes, Boundary conditions, Technical RASIC, DVP agreement and closures, sign off with customer for product release. By meticulously managing these deliverables, you will bridge the gap between engineering concepts and formal production approval, ensuring all requirements are validated on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Requirement Capture: Lead technical interactions with OEM engineering teams to gather system-level requirements. Translate complex customer specifications into clear engineering and product development requirements and targets. Communicate internally to all stakeholders.
• System Integration and Packaging: Adapt core product architectures and baseline designs to specific customer vehicle platforms, ensuring system performance, compliance, and integration targets are met. Complete alignment and sign off with OEM for finalized packaging layouts along with specifications.
• Performance targets: Derive vehicle level performance targets and attributes (NVH, Performance, Fuel Economy, Operating economy, Diagnostics etc) based on customer specific requirements, target market segment, applicable regulatory norms, end customer profiles, market duty cycles. Document these targets and align with customers.
• Vehicle build support and coordination: Collaborate closely with customer & internal teams responsible for supporting the vehicle build. Finalize the BOM with customers. Prepare detailed build plan and component maturity plans. Coordinate with suppliers, purchase agencies and other stakeholders to facilitate the timely parts of availability and resource availability.
• Homologation support: Understand the applicable regulatory requirements as per target market and target vehicle segment. Convert this into an action plan and trigger all internal and customer stakeholders. Coordinate with certification agencies for clarity on the procedure and plan. Communicate with all stakeholders the requirements and execution plan till conclusion of the Homologation activity.
• Vehicle Validation and Series release sign offs: Align complete vehicle level validation plan with deliverables and acceptance criteria from each test. Coordinate for execution of all planned tests and documentation of the results. Analyze the data from all tests and generate closure reports and obtain sign off from all stakeholders before going ahead for series release.

Qualifications & Key Requirements

• Education: Bachelors or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 10 to 15 years of core vehicle engineering and product development experience, specifically focused on vehicle development from beginning. Should have led a team of engineers for at least 5 years
• Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in vehicle engineering with practical on hands experience required in terms of product validations, Homologation, Target balancing and finalizations, Prototype build activities and overall coordination with all stakeholders.
• Customer Interface: Proven track record of managing technical interfaces with global/domestic stakeholders within automotive OEMs.
