Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Bengaluru is seeking a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer to lead end-to-end scoping, design, and operations for multi-cloud infrastructures across AWS and GCP. The role emphasizes Infrastructure as Code with Terraform/Ansible, observability with Prometheus, Grafana and OpenTelemetry, and production incident management.

You will work on on-site deployments, collaborate with customers and engineering teams, and drive 24x7 support and automation using Python or Go.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of overall engineering experience with 3+ years in SRE
• 2+ years of Forward Deployed Engineering or customer-facing deployment experience
• Strong programming in Python or Go, with REST API integration and automation
• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP cloud environments
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production
• Experience with Terraform and/or Ansible for IaC
• 5+ years Linux experience including configuration, troubleshooting and production ops
• Experience with cloud IAM and security practices
• Knowledge of production operations, incident management, SLOs and observability
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field

What You Will Do

• Lead end-to-end technical scoping, architecture design, system integration, and deployment of complex solutions across customer and production cloud environments.
• Design, build, and maintain multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS/GCP using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Drive production support, operational automation, and incident management for highly available enterprise cloud services.
• Participate in 24x7 production support and on-call operations, ensuring system reliability and rapid incident resolution.
• Define and maintain SLOs, high availability, low latency, and operational performance across production environments.
• Implement and improve observability and telemetry using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortems to continuously improve platform reliability.
• Work closely with customers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to deploy, troubleshoot, and operate solutions throughout their lifecycle.
• Develop automation and production tooling using Python or Go, including REST API integrations and declarative tools.

What You Need To Bring

• 5+ years of overall engineering experience, including:
  • 3+ years of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience
  • 2+ years of Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) or customer-facing deployment experience
• Strong hands-on programming skills in Python or Go, including REST API integration and automation.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP cloud environments.
• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Ansible for Infrastructure as Code.
• 5+ years of experience working with Linux, including configuration, troubleshooting, and production operations.
• Experience with cloud IAM and security practices.
• Strong understanding of production operations, incident management, high availability, SLOs, and observability.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice To Have

• Experience deploying or operating AI/LLM or agent-based platforms in production.
• Strong experience with Jenkins/Groovy scripting.
• Backend or full-stack software development experience.
