RM India, the India Delivery Center for RM Plc, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide expert resources in core routing, switching, security and diagnostics. The role supports enterprise networks and IP telephony infrastructure, requiring 2–3 years in a network environment and CCNA/CCNP certification.

The position offers hybrid working options and a comprehensive rewards and recognition program, with a blended mix of office-based collaboration and remote work as the role evolves.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in a network environment.
• Professional certification such as CCNA or CCNP is preferred.
• ISP experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
• Extensive experience with VPNs, network security, routing and switching.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot effectively.
• Demonstrates self-motivation and perseverance to complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, diagnose and troubleshoot network issues and customer change requests.
• Remote operation and diagnosis of high-end network equipment.
• Support firewalls within enterprise network environments.
• Build, configure, install, and manage network and IP telephony infrastructure hardware/software.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to implement change requests.
• Liaise with ISPs to resolve bandwidth/connection issues.

The role of Senior Systems Engineer is to provide network engineering expert resources in the disciplines of core routing, core switching, network security and network diagnostics.

Responsibilities

Performance

• Analyse, diagnose and troubleshoot issues in network and related problems regarding the customer change requests.
• Remote operation and diagnosis of high-end network equipment
• Support various firewalls within enterprise network environments.
• Building, configuring, installing, and managing network and IP Telephony infrastructure related hardware and software
• Analyses, troubleshoots, problem solves and provides input on decision making.
• Liaise and cooperate with ISP to troubleshoot and resolve any bandwidth or connection issues.
• Working with the best and latest cutting-edge network security technologies
• Work with infrastructure teams to implement/execute change requests.

Collaboration

• Close cooperation with the operations and supporting technical teams.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including external partners where relevant.

External Stakeholder Engagement

• Managing communication with onsite resources and customers as and when required

Experience

The role and its responsibilities can be expected to evolve across time.

Skills and Experience

• A graduate in any discipline preferably (Computer Science, Engineering) with 2 - 3 years of experience in a network environment
• Industry-related experience as a Mid-level Engineer.
• Professional certification (e.g., CCNA, CCNP)
• ISP working experience considered as an add on advantage.
• In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
• Extensive experience in VPN’s, network security, routing and switching.
• Ability to work independently.
• Sharp troubleshooting skills
• Demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and tenacity to get the job done.
