Job summary

Excis is seeking a Senior System Engineer to join our India team on-site in Navi Mumbai. You will provide L2 desktop and technical support, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to IT infrastructure activities in a fast-paced, global environment.

You will troubleshoot Windows, networking, and ITSM issues, maintain workstations, and ensure service delivery aligns with SLA requirements while supporting cybersecurity and access control policies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in desktop support, helpdesk or system administration.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and common business applications.
• Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience with ITSM / ticketing systems.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, MFA, encryption and access control.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 desktop and technical support remotely and onsite.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Diagnose and resolve TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP issues.
• Manage service tickets and SLA compliance.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior System Engineer to join our team in India. This role is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional looking to expand their expertise and progress toward a high-level infrastructure role in the future.You will provide L2 technical support, contribute to IT infrastructure activities, and help ensure consistent service delivery across the team. The position offers exposure to a high-profile major project and a dynamic global IT environment.

As a senior member of the team, you will also play an important role in supporting the wider IT function by mentoring and coaching junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and troubleshooting best practices, supporting team performance and service quality, and coordinating engineer shift schedules in collaboration with HR. You will also help identify recurring technical issues and opportunities for improvement while supporting a consistent and professional customer experience.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with leadership, mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills, and who is ready to take on greater responsibility as they progress toward a future infrastructure-focused role.

What You'll Do:

• Provide L2 desktop and technical support remotely and onsite
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, including Windows, MS Office, printers, and peripherals
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
• Manage service tickets and incidents in accordance with SLA requirements
• Set up, configure, and maintain workstations and IT equipment
• Support system upgrades, patching, and infrastructure activities
• Document troubleshooting procedures, technical solutions, and resolutions
• Escalate complex technical issues to L3 / third-level support
• Assist with day-to-day IT infrastructure operations and service improvements
• Coordinate and manage shift schedules for IT engineers in collaboration with HR
• Provide technical guidance and act as a mentor to junior engineers
• Support knowledge sharing and promote best practices within the IT support team
• Ensure compliance with company cybersecurity and access control policies

What You'll Need:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, system administration, or L1/L2 technical support
• Strong knowledge of Windows and common business applications
• Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
• Hands-on experience with ITSM / ticketing systems
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and access control
• Familiarity with MFA, encryption policies, and access control policies
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Experience working independently and within a team
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior engineers
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible, proactive, and willing to learn

Language Requirements

• English: B1 or higher (certified)

Work Authorization

• Valid, unrestricted work authorization for India is required
