Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. in India seeks a Quality and Supplier Quality Engineer to support mechanical manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, sheet metal, fabrication, injection molding, extrusion, and rubber.

You will collaborate with BU teams and suppliers to meet quality requirements and lead process improvements. Responsibilities include audits, FAI/PPAP coordination, NC action closure, risk identification and mitigation, and stopping non-conforming production when needed.

Qualifications

• Understanding mechanical manufacturing processes (machining, casting, sheet metal, fabrication, injection molding, extrusion, rubber).
• Experience coordinating with suppliers on FAI/PPAP and quality requirements.
• Ability to identify and mitigate supply chain quality risks and implement corrective actions.
• Inspect production procedures to ensure efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Authority to stop production for serious non-conformances.
• Experience with 8D, supplier audits, and closure of NC actions.
• Monitoring supplier performance and driving continuous quality improvements.
• Experience coordinating with BU, sourcing, and engineering for technical requirements and PPAP submissions.
• Utilization of AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Understand and drive quality for mechanical manufacturing processes across AMETEK BU’s.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams for quality requirements and process improvements.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to quality.
• Inspect and approve production processes, ensure safety and compliance.
• Have authority to stop any process or delivery on serious non-conformance.
• Coordinate FAI submissions and PPAP approvals with BU and engineering.
• Conduct supplier audits and close out corrective actions (NCs).
• Monitor supplier performance and implement actions for improvement.
• Apply AI-driven approaches to improve productivity and reduce costs.

Job description

• Ability to understand Mechanical Manufacturing Processes i.e. Machining, Casting, Sheet metal, Fabrication, Injection Molding, Extrusion, Rubber
• Ability to work with suppliers for Quality requirement & Process improvements to meet Quality requirements of AMETEK BU’s
• Ability to identify Supply chain risk due to Quality issues and proactively create mitigation plan
• Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety Standards
• Has the authority to stop any process or product delivery in case of serious non-conformance (customer expectations or safety and regulations issues…)
• Interactions with BU, supplier, sourcing manager, Engineering on the technical requirement and ensuring the ontime FAI submission and PPAP approval to BU
• Creating and conducting supplier Audits and ensuring of closer of Action plans for NC’s
• Following up on Project development and inspecting and approving on the FAI’s
• Ability to work closely with Suppliers for 8D and closing of actions for all production issues from BU and ensuring of horizontal implementation of actions for similar parts / suppliers
• Ability to monitor supplier performance and work with suppliers to drive actions to improve on the performance of Quality
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
