Job summary

Stantec IN Business Unit in Pune is seeking a Structural Engineer / Detailer to join our growing team, contributing to BIM modelling, drafting and documentation of civil projects.

You will use Revit, AutoCAD and CADS RC to produce reinforced concrete and steelwork drawings, coordinate with other disciplines, and ensure compliance with US/BS/Euro/AS/NZ codes.

Qualifications

• BEng in Civil Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience or Diploma with 4+ years experience.
• Experience with US, BS, Euro, AS/NZ code detailing practices.
• 4–5 years for Diploma and 6+ years for ITI in GA drawings, RC detailing and steelwork detailing.
• Hands-on experience with Revit, AutoCAD & CADS RC is a must.
• Good understanding of engineering drawing conception and development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver drawings and associated documentation.
• Produce reinforced concrete and steelwork drawings that are clear and constructible.
• Coordinate drawings with other disciplines and maintain files throughout contracts.
• Follow QA procedures and ensure drawings are produced within timeframes.

Primary Purpose Of The Job

Stantec is looking for a Structural Engineer / Detailer who can be a part of our growing team in our Pune office. Contribute to the ongoing growth of Stantec ResourceNet Private India Ltd by providing technical expertise in specialist areas of civil engineering and design. To be involved in the implementation and delivery of leading-edge programmes and projects.

Support project managers/team leaders by providing technical support to ensure that project outcomes in terms of profit, schedule, technical and quality standards meet both the client and Stantec expectations.

BIM Modelling, Drafting and Documentation of projects under the instructions and guidance of a Project Lead using Structural Engineering and Designing techniques utilizing software such as, but not limited to, 3D modelling and 2D drawings using OpenBuilding Designer and MicroStation. Revit and AutoCAD is a plus in accordance with Client standards and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

• The Structural Detailer shall be responsible for the delivery of drawings and associated documentation.
• Produce reinforced concrete and steelwork arrangement drawings which are clear, accurate, cost-effective, meet the requirements of the specification and can be constructed and commissioned safely and effectively.
• Extensive experience in the use of software such as CADS RC, Revit, and AutoCAD
• Consider environmental issues in all detailing activities.
• Ensure the standard practices and details are utilised wherever possible.
• Ensure that previous similar solutions are adapted and utilised wherever possible.
• Report problems in the detailing and brief to an appropriate person.
• Maintain competitiveness by ensuring drawings are produced within the durations indicated
• Follow Quality procedures and processes.
• Ensure drawing coordination with all other disciplines, internal and external to STANTEC.
• Maintain drawing files and records throughout contracts.
• Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor/management

Person Specifications

• BEng (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering with a minimum 10 years of relevant experience or a Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 4 years of relevant experience
• Should have experience with US, BS, Euro, AS/NZ code detailing practices
• Should have minimum experience of 4-5 years for diploma and 6+ years for ITI, in General arrangement drawings, Reinforced concrete detailing and steelwork detailing in Infrastructure, Water, or Building sector projects.
• Ability to effectively operate - Hands-on experience with Revit, AutoCAD & CADS RC is a must.
• Understanding of the principles of engineering drawing conception and development
• Understanding of the company's drawing and design development procedures.
• Should know about understanding 3D modelling.
• Data / Document management system experience - ProjectWise, BIM360, ACC, Bluebeam
• Good interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of the general drawing requirements of a construction team
• Ability to communicate technical proposals clearly and to understand direction from others.
• Flexible attitude to accepting different work assignments and a proactive attitude to execution/delivery
