Job summary

Big Bang Boom Solutions Private Limited in Chennai seeks an experienced satellite systems engineer to own mission and system architecture across space programmes. You will drive requirements flow-down, interface control, budgets and verification, and mentor a growing team.

You have taken at least one satellite or payload from concept to flight in a systems role, and you will set up the systems engineering process and lead critical design reviews.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10–20 yrs in the satellite industry with at least one satellite or payload taken to flight in a systems role.
• Certification or course credits in MBSE (INCOSE) or MBSE is a plus.
• Strong understanding of requirements flow-down, interface control and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Satellite and payload system design, integration and testing from concept to flight.

Job description

Experienced satellite systems engineer to own mission and system architecture across our space programmes. Strong understanding of requirements flow-down, interface control, system budgets and verification. Should have taken at least one satellite or payload from concept to flight in a systems role and be able to set up the systems engineering process and mentor a growing team.

Key Responsibilities: Satellite and payload system design, integration and testing – all the way from concept and ground testing to qualification and flight. This role will set the engineering standard for these programmes, take them from ground testing to flight, and help build the team around them.

Qualifications: B.E./B.Tech, M.Tech or PhD in Aerospace (preferred)/Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical. Certification or course credits in systems engineering (INCOSE) or MBSE will be a plus.

Experience: 10–20 yrs in the satellite industry (ISRO centres, satellite manufacturers), with at least one satellite or payload taken to flight in a systems role.

Skills: 1. Mission concept of operations, system architecture and trade studies. 2. Requirements flow-down and traceability, and interface control documents with bus, payload and launch providers. 3. Mass, power, link, pointing, thermal and data budgets, with margin management. 4. AIT planning and environmental qualification – vibration, thermal vacuum and EMI/EMC. 5. Leading design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR), risk management and FMECA. 6. Working knowledge of ISRO, ECSS or NASA systems engineering standards.

Good to have skills: DOORS / Jama / Polarion (requirements), Capella / Cameo (MBSE), STK / GMAT, MATLAB / Simulink, Python, ECSS / ISRO standards, technical proposal writing.
