Job summary

Jobtailor in Indore, India, is seeking an experienced SQL Developer to design, optimize, and maintain T-SQL solutions, procedures, views, and reports.

You will interpret complex requirements, implement data cleansing and validation, and collaborate in Agile teams to deliver robust data pipelines and BI reports using Power BI or Tableau. Prior experience in Life Sciences is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• 5+ years total SQL experience preferred.
• Expertise in stored procedures, triggers, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience with data modeling, ERDs, and SQL concepts.
• Familiarity with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or ThoughtSpot.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and ETL/Data Warehousing preferred.
• Experience in Life Sciences industry is a significant advantage.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Develop high-level T‑SQL solutions, data manipulation, and complex report generation.
• Interpret intricate requirements and optimize query performance.
• Ensure data quality through rigorous testing and documentation.
• Design, develop, and maintain intricate T‑SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Execute complex data cleansing, validation, and enrichment tasks; compose and schedule custom scripts for data movement.
• Design and maintain reports utilizing Crystal Reports or other modern business intelligence tools.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, peer programming, and unit testing cycles.
• Investigate data issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and maintain comprehensive documentation and data dictionaries.

Requirements

• 4+ years of practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T‑SQL.
• Expertise in stored procedures, triggers, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Strong command of relational database concepts, normalization, joins, CTEs, and window functions.
• Experience using Git for version control and the ability to interpret ERDs and functional specifications.
• Demonstrated experience writing unit tests and collaborating with QA teams.
• 5+ years of total SQL experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, or experience with migrating reports between platforms preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and a basic understanding of ETL/Data Warehousing preferred.
• Experience in the Life Sciences industry (Pharmaceuticals, Biotech, or Clinical Research) is a significant advantage.
