Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti is a global gold mining company with a diverse portfolio of operations across 10 countries. This GeoMetallurgical role provides expert Geometallurgical and mineralogical advisory to Business Units and internal teams to support business planning, plant optimisation and troubleshooting.

The role emphasises safety leadership, external network management with vendors and research institutions, and delivering input into Full Asset Potential opportunities while ensuring alignment

Qualifications

• A degree qualification in Geology, GeoMetallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Process Engineering or a relevant related discipline.
• At least 8 years relevant experience in the mining industry – Gold, Base Metals
• Ability to take a 3-year business perspective in managing multiple competing priorities and reconciling with company priorities
• Knowledge and experience with both Geology and metallurgy/mineral processing
• Extensive travel is required

• Technical Advisory: Provide expert Geometallurgical and mineralogical advice to Business Units and internal teams.
• Opportunity Execution: Deliver expert technical input into Full Asset Potential (FAP) opportunity development.
• Network Management: Establish and maintain high-value relationships with external vendors, OEMs, and research institutions.
• Safety Leadership: Model behavior aligned with the AGA Safety Vision and Values, supporting active incident investigations.

Provides GeoMetallurgical technical services and supportive governance for Geometallurgy and Mineralogy. The role supports the Principal GeoMetallurgy in business planning, plant optimisation, and troubleshooting across AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) .

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• A degree qualification in Geology, GeoMetallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a relevant related discipline

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• At least 8 years relevant experience in the mining industry – Gold, Base Metals
• Ability to take a 3-year business perspective in managing multiple competing priorities and reconciling these with the Company’s strategic priorities
• Knowledge and experience with both Geology and metallurgy/mineral processing
• Main background in mineral processing and knowledge in Geology
• Strong background in production and management - desirable
• Strong track record in business improvement and change management – desirable
• Extensive travel is required
