Pocketful is seeking a Senior Specialist - Backend Software Development to design and build highly scalable backend systems end-to-end for a fintech trading platform.

You will work directly with the CTO and founders, collaborating across infrastructure layers. Proficiency in Java/C++/Python/Golang, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS is essential, with REST APIs and strong CS fundamentals guiding architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend development experience.
• Proficient in Java/C++/Python/Golang.
• Experience building scalable products and APIs.
• Familiarity with Agile, CI/CD, testing methodologies.

Who are we looking for?

• Backend Developer, who is proficient in Java/C++/Python/ Golang, is a must
• Minimum 4 years of work experience in backend development & building scalable products
• Work on a category creating, possibly disruptive, fintech products in early stages.
• Design and develop highly scalable and reliable systems end-to-end.
• Directly work with the CTO and Founders, and be a part of product strategy.
• Self-Starter; Will be working alongside other engineers and developers, collaborating on the various layers of the infrastructure for our products built in-house.
• Someone proficient in Docker & Kubernetes, and AWS
• Expert knowledge of computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Familiarity with Agile development, continuous integration, and modern testing methodologies.
• Familiarity in working with REST APIs
• Think out of the box while solving problems, considering the scale and changing environment variables.
• Quickly learn and contribute to changing technical stack
• Bonus Points- Working knowledge of SQL database for a product at scale, MongoDB, Redis, and RabbitMQ.
• Interest (and/or experience) in the financial/stock market space – interest trumps experience!
