Job summary

WebEngage is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer to design and implement tailored solutions for customers. You will interface with engineering, support, success, and onboarding teams to deliver custom implementations balancing safety and design.

You will work on backend projects, build reusable components, and help evolve the team with scalable solutions while staying close to the codebase.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Solutions Engineer/Architect.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and SQL; exposure to ETL and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements, and create and execute an implementation strategy based on it.
• Update and maintain existing back-end projects.
• Integrate third-party services and APIs into projects for data flow.
• Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers, CSMs and external stakeholders.
• Develop, update & maintain technical documentation and reusable backend components.
• Optimize applications for performance and scalability.
• Test existing and new projects to ensure security and stability.

WebEngage prides itself on delivering efficient, effective solutions across a wide range of industries. The key to our success largely depends on our Solutions Engineering team's stellar ability. Weʼre currently searching for an experienced Solutions Engineer to join our ranks and continue our tradition of success. The role of a Solutions Engineer is to interface with customers and identify their needs. You will need to work with various departments such as engineering/development, support, success and onboarding to work together in order to help achieve the business requirements of our customers through custom implementations to balance various aspects of the project, from safety to design. Additionally, a Solutions Engineer researches advanced technology regarding best practices in the field and seeks to find cost-effective solutions.

The main objective of this role is to architect solutions to achieve the custom business requirements of our customers. You also can be in the code and partner in developing more complex solutions with the team. We find that most of our technologists love this, as they do not like to get too far from the code.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Understand customer requirements, and create and execute an implementation strategy based on it.

• Integrate third-party services and APIs into projects, such as for communicating with other platforms for data flow.

• You will be collaborating with front-end, and back-end developers, CSMs and external stakeholders.

• Work on the backend projects and help the team evolve by building reusable components.

• Optimizing applications for performance and scalability.

• Test existing as well as new projects to ensure the software is secure and stable.

• Develop, Update & Maintain technical documentation.

EXPERTISE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Education Background
   Bachelorʼs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
2. Experience
   Overall experience of 3 - 5 years as a Solutions Engineer/Architect.
3. Technical Skills
   Strong knowledge of JavaScript.
   Basic or Intermediate SQL proficiency with select, joins, case statements, subqueries query writing.
   Knowledge of ETL, and Data Warehousin

Tool Experience- Jira, Postman, Confluence, AWS Server.
A consultative approach to solving customerʼs business challenges and having a track record of successfully overcoming technical and security objections.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Plus to have:

1. Experience with Cronjob & Google Cloud Platform services.

2. Knowledge of Databases (NOSQL or SQL) and shell scripting is good to have.

3. Good knowledge of Web servers and deployment frameworks like Docker or equivalent.
