Job summary

Rapiscan Systems in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to design, develop and execute test cases for our security software products. You will work in a collaborative team, applying automated and manual testing to ensure product quality and performance.

The role requires strong Java-based test automation, Playwright, TestNG and SQL, with experience in Agile environments. You will mentor juniors and contribute to test strategy, plans, and regression suites.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in EEE/ECE/CSE or MCA degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years of software testing experience in a product-based company.

Responsibilities

• Set up test environment and develop high-quality test cases.
• Perform test case reviews against requirements/user stories.
• Identify regression test cases and develop performance test cases.
• Contribute to Test Strategy and Test Plan and implement in area of work.
• Execute test runs and document results; enter defects in tracking tools.

Works effectively within a team of technically strong engineers. Adheres to the schedules, standards and quality processes and procedures of the Organization.

Independently develops, maintains, upgrades and executes, test cases and Automation Scripts for application products. Identifies product limitations. Identifying product limitations, exploratory testing, ability to find defects that severely impact product functionality and usability are essential for this position.

He/She shall be responsible for training/mentoring the junior team members

Responsibilities

• Set up test environment
• Develop high quality test cases against requirements/user stories
• Perform effective test case review against requirements/user stories
• Identification of regression test cases
• Develop performance test cases using tools
• Contribute to Test Strategy and Test Plan, and implement in respective area of work
• Execute assigned test runs and update results into Test Case management Tool Enter defect details in Defect Tracking Tool
• Help developers in reproducing complex/rare issues
• Ensure appropriate links between requirement ,test case and defects (traceability)
• Complete assigned tasks on-time and in accordance with the appropriate process.
• Participate in technical reviews to ensure product quality.
• Contribute to Test Case design
• Good knowledge of UML and ability to develop test cases based on use cases
• Regular status reports of testing activities.
• Continually update technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications
• Handle complex test automation and troubleshoot issues.
• Good in usage of software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools
• Train and mentor junior team members

Functional Skills

• Knowledge of Screening and Scanning technologies is a plus
• Exposure to Security Systems domain is a plus

Specific Knowledge And Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycles, Testing Life Cycle and testing Concepts
• Knowledge of Microsoft OS (Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 & above) and software practices
• Comprehend Test set-up.
• Experience in Manual Web testing and Performance testing
• Proficient in Java language as applied to test automation
• Good test automation experience with Microsoft Playwright
• Experience in Usage of Test NG framework
• Experience in writing basic SQL queries is required
• Experience with Agile software development methodology is required
• Working knowledge of MS-Word and MS-Excel is required
• Knowledge on API Testing and Docker is a plus
• Testing experience on Android , iOS platforms is a plus
• Experience with Performance Testing Tools such as LoadRunner is a plus

Qualifications
