Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities aligned to the org's goals and collaborate with Director+ stakeholders.
• Set expectations with individuals and provide regular feedback and coaching.
• Develop long-term technical goals and roadmaps for the team and beyond.
• Oversee system designs within the broader scope and review code to solve ambiguous problems.
• Review code and provide feedback to ensure best practices and code quality.

In this role, you will be a technical leader who innovates in this space with building a team that is delivering world-leading performance for Google's PD Backup family of products, and lead Persistent Disk/Hyperdisk's IO Performance team.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams. Partner with and influence Director+ stakeholders from various organizations across the company.
• Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.
• Develop the long-term technical goal and roadmap within, and often beyond, the scope of your teams. Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
• Oversee systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and review product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
