Job summary

Salesforce Hyderabad is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager who will lead multiple engineering teams, shaping architecture and driving on-time delivery of critical features in a fast-paced environment.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and product managers, and uphold engineering excellence through code reviews, CI/CD, and scalable practices to support our AI+ data initiatives.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3–5 years leading sizeable technical teams.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Drive execution and delivery of features by collaborating with multi-functional teams, architects, product owners, and engineers.
• Make critical decisions that contribute to the success of the product.
• Proactively foresee and resolve issues before they happen.
• Run daily stand-ups as Scrum Master for engineering teams.
• Partner with Product Owners to align on objectives, priorities, tradeoffs, and risk.
• Ensure teams have clear priorities and adequate resources.
• Empower the delivery team to self-coordinate.
• Be a multiplier — passionate about team members' success.
• Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring.
• Maintain high morale and motivate teams to go above and beyond.
• Vocally advocate for technical excellence and help teams make sound decisions.
• Participate in architecture discussions, planning, and multi-functional reviews.
• Maintain culture by interviewing and hiring top talent.
• Occasionally contribute to coding and feature verification to stay technically sharp.
• Related technical degree required
• 15+ years of Software Engineering experience with 3–5 years leading sizeable teams on fast-paced technical projects
• Experience leading large-scale distributed systems, microservices, and/or distributed architecture
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Comfortable working with minimal specifications in a flexible, proactive manner
• Experience with short release cycles, full software lifecycle, and public product releases
• Proven experience hiring, mentoring, and leading engineers
• Solid grasp of engineering best practices: coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build, testing, and operations
• Agile/Scrum experience required
