Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is hiring a senior enterprise architect to lead architecture, design and delivery of AI-powered, cloud-native solutions. You will drive adoption of Generative AI, Agentic AI, AI/ML platforms, and automation and mentor engineers across teams.

You will define technical strategy, standards, and best practices for scalable, secure systems, with a focus on Azure public cloud, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps. Join us to transform health tech globally.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with architecture leadership responsibilities.
• Deep experience with Azure Public Cloud, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale CI/CD, DevSecOps, and platform engineering solutions.
• Solid expertise in AI/ML, Generative AI, Agentic AI, LLMs, RAG frameworks, and AI platform development.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence architecture decisions across multiple teams.
• Solid communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale AI-powered and cloud-native solutions
• Drive adoption of Generative AI, Agentic AI, AI/ML platforms, and automation capabilities across the organization
• Define technical strategy, architecture standards, and engineering best practices for scalable, secure, and resilient systems
• Architect and optimize solutions leveraging Azure Public Cloud services and modern platform engineering principles
• Lead cross-functional initiatives involving software engineering, AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, and DevSecOps
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction through architecture reviews, innovation, and engineering excellence
• Drive operational excellence through automation, observability, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with business and technology leaders to translate strategic objectives into technology solutions
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer science or similar field
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated architecture and technical leadership responsibilities
• Deep experience with Azure Public Cloud, cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale CI/CD, DevSecOps, and platform engineering solutions
