Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Senior Software/Firmware Engineer to design, implement, test, and deliver software for next‑generation Wi‑Fi Access Points in Bengaluru. You will work on firmware bring‑up, Linux kernel networking, and hardware/software interaction, delivering high‑quality networking solutions.

You will collaborate with product managers and cross‑functional teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to architectural improvements, performance tuning, and test automation across complex wireless

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, CS, or equivalent.
• 9–12 years of relevant software development experience.
• 5+ years in developing networking devices like Wi‑Fi Access Points.
• Strong C programming and Linux kernel development experience.
• Deep exposure to embedded systems, firmware, and hardware/software interaction.
• Experience with software testing: test plans, debugging, and test automation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and deliver software for next‑gen Wi‑Fi Access Points.
• Develop software, resolve defects, adapt solutions for new hardware platforms and improve performance.
• Develop and bring up firmware for new 802.11 access point hardware, including platform enablement.
• Partner with data analytics and ML teams to enable intelligent wireless networking.

• Communicate with management on design status, progress, and issue resolution.

• Strong proficiency in C programming
• Deep experience with Linux kernel development and networking protocols
• Solid understanding of embedded systems, firmware development, and hardware/software interaction
• Experience with software systems testing methodologies, including test plan development, debugging, and test automation tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
