Senior Software Engineer - Test Automation (Platform)

The Role

Veeva Systems is looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Test Automation who will contribute to the day‑to‑day delivery of mission‑critical Vault applications. You will work on cutting‑edge technologies such as AWS (EC2, S3, Workspace), Visual Regression, and DevOps tools, developing and maintaining automated tests to support our growing suite of regression tests.

What You’ll Do

• Possess deep knowledge of Veeva Digital trial products such as CDMS, CDB, SiteVault, and MyVeeva applications
• Create an automation test plan and review it with Development, Product Management, and Functional QA
• Design and implement API, UI automation, and frameworks
• Contribute to release testing and automation
• Work with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, JIRA) daily
• Act as a technical mentor and resolve technical issues faced by junior team members
• Communicate status and work effectively with global teams
• Perform code reviews and troubleshoot day‑to‑day technical issues related to test automation
• Work closely with scrum masters on sprint planning and backlog grooming

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Software Testing, Test Automation, and/or Software Development
• Strong experience in Java and Object‑Oriented Methodologies
• Experience with automated test frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber)
• Experience testing RESTful API & HTTP web services, JSON/XML, and web‑based applications
• Good working knowledge of CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, JIRA)
• Experience with data analytics and log analysis tools such as Kibana and Elasticsearch
• Design, develop, and manage automated testing artifacts
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Practical approach to complex testing, especially regression test automation
• Proficient in QA processes and methodologies, and various testing approaches
• Collaborate to gather automation requirements, design automated tests, and implement scalable solutions
• Product‑handling mindset
• Excellent team collaboration and effective communication skills
• Experience playing a technical mentor role and performing code reviews
• Fluency in interfacing with scrum teams (Development, Product Management, Functional QA & DevOps)
• A natural problem solver and critical thinker
• Knowledge of modern best practices for software development, including IDE, source control, build processes, release management, and deployment
• Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field

• Experience working in the life sciences and healthcare industry
• Participation in code hackathons and other open‑source community activities
• Experience with Android and Mac platforms
• Experience with applicable software and programs including Kotlin, Swift, Java, and React
