Job summary

Cleo is seeking an experienced software engineer to join our AI-powered development team in Bengaluru. You will participate in all facets of software development, applying an AI-first mindset to design, build, test, and support scalable cloud-based solutions.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to CI/CD and DevOps, and collaborate with product and partner teams to advance Cleo Integration Cloud across AWS and other cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (and/or Post Graduate Degree) in computer science, software engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience working in software development.
• Hands‑on experience with Java, Node, Typescript, Angular, and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Apply AI-first mindset to generate code with AI assistants.
• Design, develop, and implement full stack components for Cleo’s cloud environment.
• Write clean, well-structured code following craftsmanship focused engineering practices.
• Make design decisions and contribute to software architecture, including evaluating external technologies.
• Author clear and thorough technical specifications, documentation, and training materials.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring timely service restoration.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated test suites, and DevOps workflows.

The Opportunity

You will be participating in all facets of Software Development and / or Software Sustaining, using knowledge and experience to analyze complex problems and devise creative solutions. Promotes proper engineering discipline and drives momentum within the team.

What You'll Do

• Have an AI-first mindset using AI coding assistants to generate code while retaining comprehension of generated code.
• Use AI across the spectrum of designing, building, testing, and supporting software products. Can build AI and Agentic based capabilities using stacks like AWS Bedrock, LangGraph, Strands, Mastra etc.
• Design, develop, and implement full stack software components that support Cleo’s cloud environment and overall architecture.
• Write and maintain clean, well structured, and high quality code following craftsmanship focused engineering practices.
• Make design decisions and contribute to software architecture, including evaluating and recommending external technologies.
• Author clear and thorough technical specifications, documentation, and training materials.
• Perform systematic unit testing, participate in final deliverable qualification, and recommend functional test cases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring timely service restoration.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated test suites, and general DevOps workflows.
• Communicate complex technical and functional concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
• Report progress, risks, and issues to the project manager.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and less experienced team members.
• Participate in daily team rituals (standups, Jira workflows) within a lightweight, craftsmanship oriented development approach.

What You Bring

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree (and/or Post Graduate Degree) in computer science, software engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience working in software development.
• Hands‑on experience working with technologies and languages like Java, Node, Typescript, Angular, and SQL.

Preferred

• Experience in any of the cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, GCP (Preferably AWS).
