Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in iOS development.
• At least 4+ years specifically in iOS app development.
• Strong proficiency in Swift and iOS paradigms.
• Experience with architectural patterns (VIPER, MVVM, etc.).
• Experience with unit/UI testing and remote debugging.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable iOS components based on project requirements.
• Own code quality, readability, and comprehensive tests.
• Conduct design reviews and uphold reliability with OE/monitoring.
• Provide constructive feedback during code reviews.
• Respond promptly to issues and keep the team informed.
• Communicate solutions to technical stakeholders and partners.

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic iOS Engineers to join our team. You'll have the chance to contribute to the flagship Grab app, engaging directly with users to understand their challenges and how our solutions can support their professional lives. Our team prioritizes architectural integrity and welcome developers' suggestions for new mobile approaches and technologies, while also emphasizing their ability to deliver on key components within the team.

You will be reporting to Engineering Manager II.

This is based in Bangalore.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform:

• Use technology to solve well-defined problems by building scalable components or features based on clear tasks and project requirements, ensuring reliable designs through deep understanding.
• Take ownership of your code, ensuring it is readable, maintainable, and well-tested, while applying appropriate data structures and algorithms.
• Conduct design reviews and maintain system reliability by implementing monitoring, alerting, and Operational Excellence (OE) standards.
• Provide clear and relevant feedback during code reviews and positively respond to feedback from others.
• Respond promptly to issues, consistently update the team, and with high quality.
• Communicate your solutions effectively to technical stakeholders by communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners.

We're looking for someone who has at least 5 years of working experience - with at least 4+ years of relevant experience in iOS application development.

• You are well versed in Swift.
• You are familiar with the iOS system and programming paradigm including OOP, TDD, reactive patterns and dependency injection
• You have a working knowledge of several architectural approaches including clean architecture, RIB, VIPER or MVVM
• You have experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design, unit testing and UI testing techniques
• You have experience maintaining applications, crash analytics, remote debugging and continuous integration
• The ability to develop iOS App or well-known open source works.
