Job summary

State Street Corporation seeks a senior software engineer in Hyderabad to join CRD’s platform team. You will analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large software enhancements in a Java/C# environment, focusing on high-transaction systems and modern cloud-native architectures.

You will collaborate with analysts and product managers, provide architectural guidance, and drive quality through tests and code reviews, contributing to a scalable front-to-back investment management solution.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of progressive professional software engineering experience in core and enterprise java.
• 6+ years of designing and developing software solutions in highly transactional, concurrent, event driven systems.
• 8+ years of Experience in Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka , cloud databases.

Why this job is important to usThe team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created the first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019.Responsibilities:Drive technical excellence by working independently to analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions within Charles River’s business and technical problem domains including modifications to core frameworks and other primary facilities critical to system operationCollaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple and sustainable software solutions for complex problemsProvide thought leadership in the design of product architecture within and beyond the team’s scope of responsibilityDirect problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve advanced software technical issuesDevelop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, or other related software engineering languages as well as keeping abreast of emerging technologies impactful to CRDs businessProvide informed guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes during code reviewsWrite unit and automation tests to ensure a high quality end productIdentify ways of improving development test methodologies contribute to and related test methodology frameworksConduct manual tests to ensure a high quality end productProvide expert level troubleshooting on large, mission critical client implementationsActively assist team leaders in the agile software development process by adhering to and advancing the CRD scrum methodology, including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectivesPlan and coordinate cross-team activities groups to complete assignmentsPreferred qualifications and education:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical fieldExperience:Minimum 9+ years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience in core and enterprise java , including collections API, concurrency, multithreading , JDBC and web services.6+ years of experience in designing and developing software solutions in a highly transactional, concurrent, event driven systems. Financial Trading systems experience is a huge plus.6+ years of Cloud native application development experience in at least one of the cloud native platforms. Preferably, Microsoft Azure.8+ years of Experience in Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka , cloud databases.Extensive experience in RDBMS(Oracle and SQL Server) with a solid understanding of the transactional database intricacies and expertise in writing complex and high performing SQLs.Demonstrated problem solving abilities involving multi-tiered, high-performance database applicationsDemonstrated ability to design and develop simple software solutions to business and technical problems of high complexityUI development experience in C#, React, Javascript is preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAble to work well with peers in a collaborative team environment and also mentor junior staff as needed.Great understanding of Agile development methodology and software development practices and principles.About Charles River Development:Charles River Investment management System in a platform that provides many Front-Office functions including Portfolio Management, Order Management and Execution, Compliance, Performance & Attribution, Modelling, Scenario Analysis, and Wealth Management.We are part of the State Street Bank.
