Job summary

LexisNexis Legal & Professional, part of RELX, is seeking a senior software engineer in Delhi to drive complex software design across multiple systems. You will mentor developers, engage with customers, and deliver high-quality software by applying agile practices and modern tech stacks.

The role emphasizes leadership, integration work with payment web services, and security hardening of open-source Java components. Strong collaboration across product and engineering teams is expected.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering/CS or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of Java software engineering and development.
• Expertise in Java open-source technologies including Apache Camel and Spring Boot.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical contact for external tech resources.
• Provide design input across a product and mentor junior developers.
• Work directly with customers and end users to translate requests into solutions.
• Lead in coding and technical issue resolution as the go-to person.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to finalize requirements.
• Write and review detailed specifications for components of moderate complexity.

About The Role

This position performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products. This position performs software design — typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary technical point of contact for external technology re sources.
• Provide design input across a product.
• Work directly with customers and end users.
• Serve as acknowledged “go to” person on coding and technical issues.
• Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
• Complete complex bug fixes.
• Mentor lead software developers interested in consultancy on development methodologies and optimization techniques.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 9+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
• Understanding of Java Software Engineering & Development.
• Expertise in Java Open-source Technologies - Apache camel, Spring boot.
• Expertise in AWS Cloud Technologies - ECS, S3, SQS, Step Functions, Lambda serverless implementations.
• Expertise in AWS DevOps activities, AWS Cloud Formation Templates and Create & Upgrade of AWS Databases.
• Knowledge on UI front end developments using React technology
• Expert knowledge of resolving security vulnerabilities on Open-source Java technologies.
• Expertise in industry technology language development trends.
• Expertise in test-driven development and maintenance including techniques for applying best practices for overall project benefit.
• Knowledge on Payment processors to facilitate payment transactions.
• Experience in the development and integration of payment webservices.
• Proven expert in partnering and leading internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.
• Software development process expert in applicable methodologies (e.g., Agile).
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong experience with various resource models such as Managed Services and/or Staff Augmentation.
• Strong knowledge in industry best practices in external resource development.
• Solid knowledge of architectural principles.
• Ability to partner and lead internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.
• Strong proficiency with data manipulation language including optimization techniques.
• Strong organization/project planning, time management, and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments, and strong delegation skills involving prioritizing and reprioritizing projects and managing projects of various size and complexity.
• Advanced problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues; prior success extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions; and identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision‑making.
• Advance communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience including senior and executive management, customers, etc., including diction/terminology and presenting information in a concise and effective manner to clients, management, and various departments using assorted communication mediums.
