Job summary

Insurity is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to join the DevOps Development team. You will enhance our deployment pipelines across Azure, AWS, and client-hosted platforms, using PowerShell, C#, APIs, and TFS/Azure DevOps.

You will automate processes, mentor teammates, and help adopt secure, scalable solutions while working with a variety of tools and technologies in a collaborative, learning-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in a DevOps role.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Automate and optimize deployment pipelines across Azure DevOps, AWS, and client-hosted platforms.
• Learn and implement multiple platforms, technologies and languages (Azure, AWS, PowerShell, C#, APIs).
• Write and modify PowerShell scripts; explore Bash as needed.
• Collaborate to reduce pain points and automate repetitive tasks.
• Mentor teammates and promote DevOps culture and knowledge sharing.
• Design secure, scalable automation and release systems across products.

Insurity’s Next Senior Software Engineer I

As part of the DevOps Development team you will help mature and improve our existing product build, packaging, and deployment processes. You will also collaborate and help pave the way to adopt new processes using a wide variety of tools including Azure DevOps, TFS, PowerShell, c#, API's, Azure - and many more – that deploy to Azure, AWS, internal, and client hosted platforms. It's rare you will do the same thing twice - and if you do, automate it! We are all about making our existing processes better while adopting current and emerging tools to make everyone's lives easier. We are a team of experienced and sharp developers with a DevOps mentality

What Our Senior Software Engineer I Will Do

• Use your skills to automate!
• Learn multiple platforms, technologies and languages (i.e. Azure, Azure DevOps, AWS, PowerShell, c#) to create new code, scripts, and processes
• Write, understand, and modify scripting languages – PowerShell is our primary language, but if you have experience with bash, etc. you can learn PowerShell
• Work on identified pain spots in the organization and use the latest tools to automate and simplify them
• Have your hands in different Insurity products every month
• Live the ‘DevOps Culture’ – spread knowledge, train others, and help bring new tools and concepts to the organization
• Have a "secure-sensitive-information" mindset in all your designs and when improving existing processes - we must strive to keep our clients' information safe
• Provide mentorship to team members
• Learn existing Insurity products and tools, then make them better, faster, more reliable, and easier to use
• Design generic automation that can span multiple products
• Design release systems that can choreograph software build and release in complex environments, while being mindful of security considerations
• Use the right tool for the task at hand. Our team improves many products – you will be exposed to a large number of tools
• Work with Visual Studio to modify c# solutions
• Write / improve TFS extensions
• Use TFS tasks to enforce quality (i.e. Code Coverage, WhiteSource)
• Automate database operations (SQL Server)
• Write and consume API’s

Who We’re Looking For

• A recommended minimum of 6 years in a DevOps role is required
• Recommended: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience considered
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to think critically, get into the details, and change directions rapidly
• Flexible, open minded, with a passion for learning new tools
• Able to give and receive feedback in a constructive manner
• Excellent ability to handle multiple contending priorities and effectively plan your work accordingly
• Demonstrated aptitude with the following technologies:
• Hosted Azure DevOps, On-Prem TFS 2017, 2019
• Jenkins concepts/knowledge useful but not required
• Source control systems – Git (TFS, ADO, BitBucket), TFVC
• CI/CD
• Kubernetes / Containers
• .net / MVC knowledge a plus
